LYRICS

I’m not one to know when to leave
Giving up when love seems over
I’m not one to stop till the game is won

I been told that I’m just naive
Like a child that has no reason
Loyalty’s all I got so I’m not gon run

But I been treated like I’m haunted
Like a ghost that no one knew
I been left for dead unwanted
When there was no sign of you
I moved on
It didn’t matter anyway

Just when I thought that nobody was watching
You came to see what no one ever saw
Just like a dream that seemed would never happen
You came and took me home
I feel like a rescue dog
Feel like a rescue dog
(Hoping and a feeling)

Remember the song that we sang
When our love was young and easy
Something bout burning out never fade away (ay(

And now this love is still easy
Just not so young anymore
Loyalty’s all I got so I’m here to stay

Just when I thought that nobody was watching
You came to see what no one ever saw
Just like a dream that seemed would never happen
You came and took me home
I feel like a rescue dog
Feel like a rescue dog
(Hoping and a feeling)

But I was treated like I’m haunted
Like a ghost that no one knew
I been left for dead unwanted
When there was still no sign of you
So I moved on

Just when I thought that nobody was watching
You came to see what no one ever saw
Just like a dream that seemed would never happen
You came and took me home
I feel like a rescue dog
Feel like a rescue dog
(Hoping and a feeling)

I’ll be your rescue dog

  1. Hi. My name is Marie and I live in Brighton Beach. My neighbors, Marion & her roommate Colin, and many more experienced a fire in our building, in Brighton. My apartment was not directly impacted like theirs was. They lived right next to where the occupant started the fire. Because they had 8 eight cats, 7 birds and 3 turtles, despite the vacate order, they are still in there trying to lay low as they look for shelter for all the animals. They got a call from the DHCR on Friday, telling them they will be vacated on Tuesday. Marion is 70 something and Colin is 50 something. I am willing to take the cats and even the turtles. It is the least traumatic option for them right now. But I can't take the birds. Maybe the pigeon but not the parakeets. It's 5:30 am right now and Colin just called me. The woman who set the fire is now safe in jail. Many know her story of Domestic Violence yet those displaced cannot be heard. Colin is terrified for Marion and he's angry at the injustice of it all. I understand. Marion is sleep walking and he helped rescue so many during the fire, he's barely holding on. Their 8th cat died a couple of days after the fire. What can we do for them? In her youth, Marion helped Coco, the Gorilla, learn sign language. She taught sign in California & in New York. She's been rescuing animals forever. Colin moved here to help her out after she was struck by a car in Brighton Beach 8 years ago. Until very recently, she's been feeding feral cats in our basement. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her babies. How can we help her with her babies? She fought so hard for them during the fire. Now she feels discarded and unable to keep them together or safe. Please help us keep the birds together. I'm retro fitting my apartment for the cats. I could also take the 3 turtles. Marion would not leave the building during the fire til she heard I was safe. She won't get medical care til she knows they're all safe. Please help them. Colin's email is Colinhorning12@gmail.com. Thanks for whatever you can do. I'm at woooooooozee@gmail.com.

  2. 1st time seeing this. Wikipedia sent me here. As you can see, on my YT profile pic, I too have a rescue dog from a high kill shelter. English Bulldog's my favorite breed 🐾❤️ . Blessings! 🙏🙏🙏

  3. I had to put my rescue down today. Had her for 6.5 years. She was a troubled girl with serious aggression issues, and I couldn’t justify keeping her with my young kids around. But, she was also a sweetheart who loved deeply. I am gutted right now, and I hope I gave her enough love in her time with me. This song makes me sad, and happy. Hug your dogs everyone. They are precious

  4. Great song and video which means a lot more than people think. We need to rescue animals. They need someone to look after them.

  5. Something most beautiful is happening in the world, and I cannot explain it. It is far above what we see and on so many levels it is unfathomable. As much as the "world" is pushing us down, something far greater is, and has been, working in each one of us. Thank you for the beautiful music and this very personal touching video. 😊

  6. Isn't it something? Train is ever going. They've been my favorites all my senior years, along side me like friends. In 2009 I became a fan while listening to all the other modern music. I had severe depression back then, and they helped get me through it
It's amazing how this all transpired. I knew there was :Drops of Jupiter " by a group I wasn't familiar with but that's all I knew till 2009. I bought a new radio and listened to everything new by everybody doing music in 2009. I was old. This went against every rule in life. Old folks only like old music , right? Wrong! Train got me through depression along with Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Kelly Clarkston. I thank all of them, but Train did most of it with their incredible, versatile songs Now I'm over my depression and still have a love for modern music, but most of all, for Train.

  7. Coming from a HUGE doggo and animal fan, this is the most beautiful song I ever heard in my life. Trains music is always so heart touching… Love you. Stay Safe, guys. Love from the USA 😸😁❤❤

  8. Absolutely love this song!!!! Thank you! It is so wonderful seeing more and more celebrities speak up and bring attention to the pets in need all over the world. Rescued is the best breed! ❤ You can't change their past but you can create a beautiful future for them! Love heals! Thank you!
