The engine would have cooked him to the point his cells got so hot they radiated, thus transforming on a molecular level to then be transfigurated as the engine cools upon landing, therefor rebuilding his entire body and this transfiguration has the added bonus of recreating him to have an appearance similar to Jason Momoa or Brad Pitt. Oh and he becomes immortal as well
