On July 12, 2022, the heavy rain caused the river to flow rapidly in the southern mountainous area of Jinan, Shandong. As a results, a bridge was washed away by the river and roadside shops were flooded. The torrential rain also caused water accumulation on many roads and the water depth reaches almost 2 meters.
According to local media, a community in the Central District of Jinan City was flooded with rainwater due to the low-lying terrain, and the above-ground and underground parking lots were quickly filled with rainwater. Forty or fifty vehicles were trapped in the underground parking lot.
In addition, the water in the ditch of Zhifang Village, Changqing, rose continuously due to torrential rainfall, and the accumulated water rushed from the ditch to the river.
Affected by the heavy rainfall, some rivers and dam have exceeded the warning water level. In order to reduce the flood pressure of the Xiaoqing River in the urban area and protect the flood control safety of the main urban area, the Lashan flood diversion project in Jinan opened the floodgates for the first time since the flood season, intercepting the flood volume of more than 800,000 cubic meters within two hours.
The channel lists such natural disasters as:
1) Geological emergencies: Earthquake, Volcanic eruption, Mud, Landslide, Avalanche;
2) Hydrological emergencies: Flood, Tsunami, Limnological disaster,
3) Fires: Forest fire, Peat fire;
4) Meteorological emergencies: Tornado, Cyclone, Blizzard, Hail, Drought, Tornado, Hail, Hurricane, Tsunami, Storm, Thunderstorm, Tempest.
