Seals at Cape Cross are used to tourists, they are not a shy as the seals at Pelican Point or more remote colonies. We often get very close to them without disturbing their habitat, they are not scared of human beings. We try to be as mindful a possible, but once an entangled seal is identified, we know that we will cause a stampede. Seals are used to tourists, but they are definitely not used to being chased by them, which is a good sign.
Naude does not have to run far to grab the unsuspecting seal pup. He cuts through a loop of fishing line with one of his Leatherman tools and lets her go back to her friends. Most of our rescues run straight back into the ocean, but at Cape Cross, we often see them reuniting with other seals. She turns around and looks back, probably wondering what just happened. Hopefully she knows that it was something good.

1:14 Aww, so sad. Though seals don't know what knifes are, they probably, instinctively recognize claw like objects. He probably thought he was going to get stabbed. That's my theory.
Naude being surrounded was kinda cool. I hope they realize OCN is there to help. ๐ฆญ๐
0:17 Chewbacca is that you?
Excellent work, as always. Love your videos. ๐๐๐๐.
In armonia con la natura ….fantastico paesaggio e gendi soccorritori .. top
seeing them all lounging on the shore it looks so peaceful. I love the sounds they make. Animals are so pure. Thank you for what you do and for sharing it with us.
Why do the seals there not run away like the others near the water?

Another puppy saved from injury !!! Cheers Ausgranny ๐ฆ๐บ๐ฆ๐บ๐คถ๐๐๐๐๐
Perhaps they are becoming desensitized to you?
seems rather suspicions seeing how the notes are tided like that but this is not hate i am probably wrong but i have seen a lot of fake animal rescues lately
here the same in Ireland – if you swim they come up to you – so curious they are- lovely save though
The seals are gradually learning that the team means no harm to them but are actually helping them ๐๐๐๐๐
'You don't need that' Love the words Naude uses (he just needs to brush up on a french accent lol) What a good crowd of onlookers! No stress to that wee girlie or the 'clan' & no damage. Just a lovely turn and chilled gaze. Wish they were ALL like this one (though not at all would be better!!) Thank you Naude ๐
Love to see this reunion ๐ฅฐ
