A large work box truck was parked in the center median due to having a flat tire for approx. 15 minutes. According to a witness, the victim was speeding in the #1 lane and hit the truck. The victim died immediately. Witnesses including a nurse attempted to CPR.
The #4 lane has been opened to clear the traffic.

Slightly off topic but I would never ever stop on the freeway for a flat tire. I will suffer the expense of having to buy four new tires if I have to. The box truck driver is lucky he is not injured.

I love to speed, but at the end of the day my moms crippled because of someone who sped and didn’t pay attention. Nothing wrong with it. Just do it safely. Speeding is just for fun. If you can speed and do to safely fuck it have it at but don’t put others at risk for your own 5 seconds of glory to go back home and repeat it next week. The car will last! As a truck driver I see the aftermath of speeding, following too closely, and distracted driving from time to time. It's heartwrenching to think of their families getting a dreadful phone call or home visit.

As a trucker driver I'd like to offer this advice that I also tell my family: Do not trust truck drivers. Don't assume they see you or will change course for you. Don't drive beside them or in front of them. When passing a truck pass it fast. Don't linger on their side.

My guess is that they were distracted which means they would have been weaving around lanes and not paying attention to their speed. I see it all the time.

Speeding on freeway driving an automatic car could lead you to heaven as opposed to driving a stick shift car and aside from using brake, it would be safer, better and more accurate to downgear using gears ⚙️
