2. in Italy 10 years ago a conda hognose's cost was 1000€. Last year I bought mine for 80€.
   But don't get me wrong, morphs more "sophisticated" are way expensive.

   Ah, and I bought a Mexican black kingsnake a couple months ago for 100€, so the prices are not that high

5. I just had a baby Albino Western Hognose snake surrendered to my reptile rescue in Virginia. He was abandoned in an apartment complex hallway along with several other reptiles and inverts. Owner got evicted, left everything behind. We found him a good home, after several applications came in, but we have a set adoption fee no matter what the animal is. He was perfectly healthy. This happens quite a bit too. Animals are just left behind in apartments. We have 2 iguanas that a cleaning lady found, they were left behind and were in the empty apartment for 2 weeks before she found them.

20. Depends on the area here in Oregon my local reptile shops especially the rectangle ones I can buy hognose a normal one for about 75 well there’s currently an albino 150 or 200

22. Awareness has gone up in general from YouTube, it's no surprise the species showcased on here would be the most in demand. Many people may not even be familiar with reptiles before finding a neat video about X snake or Y lizard and learning more, so it makes sense that the critter in that video would be one of their first choices.

24. Ik these aren’t a reptile but Axolotls. They got HUGELY POPULAR probably due to a lot of games (like Minecraft) adding them and their all over TikTok. Ik I’ve never heard of them ever before the popularity spike and my old class mate ended up getting two as pets (did the research and stuff) because he saw them in Minecraft. :p yeah their cool~

26. Black night leopard geckos can go for up to $3000. And for me that’s about what I would pay for a car 😂. But I totally get your point! It’s sad that people have stopped investing time in them and corns, as I have had both and absolutely love these breeds
