I have a feeling in DND terms, Big Mom is Lawful Neutral and Kaido is Chaotic Neutral/Evil, this is likely the difference that drove them to be enemies in the first place.
Big Mom takes care of her citizens, Kaido treats them all as slaves. Big Mom has certain terms and rules for everything, Kaido didn't care to honor any agreements and often allowed his subordinates to do the same, even letting Queen treat them as slaves too.
