Pinocchio is a 2022 American musical fantasy film directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay by Zemeckis and Chris Weitz. The film, produced by Walt Disney Pictures, is a live-action adaptation of Walt Disney’s 1940 animated film of the same name, which is itself based on the 1883 Italian book The Adventures of Pinocchio, by Carlo Collodi. Disney remakes definitely needs to stop!
Do you think this whole "turn classics into live action movies" stick is just a scam to not only make money on old properties again but also to make people watch the original animated movies and get more love and appreciation (and money) out of them?
I won't spoil the ending, but I really liked it. I liked the message, and it was understandable and relevant to today, plus I think kids will get it as well. And it doesn't take anything away from the original.
Well, to voice a bird? Alan Tudyk, of course. LOL, but this bird actually talks, she doesn't just make bird noises.
He didn't want to smash the clocks because he knew how much his father valued his clocks and didn't want to ruin one that was obviously made with so much care.
Pinnichio: A
Pinnchio Remake: B- ( I prefer 2d how ever if this movie really pulled on its Changes and had an epilouge about the new puppet it could have been same grade as the orfinal.
Whoever is doing your thumbnails needs a raise!!!! Clearly they are so talented!!!!
Not going to lie when I first heard about this my first thought was if Jimmidy cricket was going to look like a horrifying real cricket, wasn’t the case but he still looks horrifying
So are we just ignoring the vapor monsters and the fact that Sabina looks oddly sentient in her eye and mouth movements? It was a very sloppy movie that was also largely boring. There were a few slapstick laughs but my kids were largely bored
How did the creepy Russian Pauly Shore version have fewer out of place pop culture references?
I really liked Gepetto’s new song it just warms me
2:21 PSYCHO DAD!!?!?!?!?!?!?!
When Doug showed a clip of Psycho Dad from McJuggerNuggets.
/ SPOILERS AHEAD
I personally didn't like this movie and it is for many reasons. To name a few… It's lazy. Just another pandering for nostalgia with misdirected 'fresh input'. Why not explore some other fairy tales? There are so many out there!
Besides that, they dumped a whole lot of filler material in. Which caused the movie to just jump, jump, jump, jump from one thing to the next. There's no moments of silence, processing, mourning, rest.
Furthermore… I was SURE that Pinocchio's 'real boy' moment was going to be him, as a puppet, being accepted by the community (after being kicked out of school).
All that the ending felt like now, was a personal, verbal affirmation from his creator/dad. If that was the planned outcome, why not make his dad obsessed with treating him like a real boy? Make him feed the wooden thing, obsessively insist that Pinocchio is growing (drawing lines on the wall/doorpost) even though he's not. Make Pinocchio brush his teeth until his little wooden chompers grow soggy from water contact. Make Gepetto less of a gentle, almost naive man and give the guy some desperation.
I could go on but the one person that might have started reading this comment will probably already have moved on before they got half way through. 😉
When they make an inevitable Nostalgia Critic review about this I hope they make a joke about Lies of P. Maybe have that Pinocchio hook up with the Alice from American Mcgee's Alice.
I like the original
I thought it was terrible. They were so afraid to have Pinocchio look bad, there's no character development
Im glad you pointed out the positives. I felt the same exact way that its the small things and story holes that add up that are a pain. This movie was gorgeous, magical, and clever for a Pinnochio fan like me even if parts of it sucked
I have a feeling Doug was paid dearly just to bring himself to say it was ''almost decent''.
I just don’t get the design of Pinocchio himself
He just looks he belongs in an 3d animated film
The fox guy and his sidekick as well as jimminy all resemble decent live action renderings of their cell animated counterparts. But Pinocchio just doesn’t look like a live action rendering but again a Pixar character
This is the best Disney remake ever
