  1. I went to work the day before Harvey hit. I worked at a doggie hotel and the dogs were acting strange staring at the sky like they knew something was coming! Luckily I made it home safe and road out the storm!

  2. When this happened my whole road down my neighborhood was flooded and it flooded the karate school I went to half way up the building

  3. I went through this and there was a bayou that was usually empty but fills up when it rains and it almost overflowed but thankfully my neighborhood didnā€™t flood at all šŸ˜ƒ

  4. This is why homeowners insurance and flood insurance were invented – people in Houston are used to do this, we get serious storms all the time, we know that in May we must stock up and prepare. As always the question is do we and why people do not

  5. As a Texan Iā€™m still ashamed people love their dumb animals so much. Good grief. People dying, drowning, property lossā€¦ā€¦get the cats and dogs. Unbelievable.

  6. Harvey was devastating. My one brother's house was flooded. What some people don't realize, Harvey made landfall close to Corpus Christi and moved up the Texas coast. Pretty much the entire coastline was flooded from Corpus all the way into Louisiana. Devastating flooding. I lived and still live about 35 miles northeast of Houston. At one point my small town was at the top of the list for most rainfall. It was unreal how fast the water rose! And it was so cold, which is unusual for hurricane temps. 4 1/2 years later and there are still some people trying to recover.

  7. This is crazy itā€™s been three years and we still havenā€™t got help with my mothers house she was the one going in the back of the ambulance and I was on back of the truck and my brother was the one interviewed and steering the truck. Weā€™re still looking for resources to help her with her house. We stayed in La Quinta hotel for about a year and half afterwards just thankful we made it through it so many things could of went wrong that night . My mother is on oxygen and was getting close to running out of the spare oxygen cans she had and 911 had her on hold for literally 2 hours and then eventually just. Never answered I know they were overwhelmed with calls so I know there was nothing could do anyways. And the water was freezing it was ridiculous. But Iā€™m so thankful for the responders that came on boat that came up with a plan to pull the truck. Hopefully I can help get her house fix sometime.

  8. The messed up thing is that home builders in Houston are still building homes in flood areas and are even covering water with soil and grass and building homes on top of it itā€™s a disaster waiting to happen for the owner
