Animal Rescue – From Season 2 Episode 6: The RSPCA steps into re-home an Ostrich who has spent his whole life living in the backyard of a motel in suburban Sydney. When her husband moves out, a woman is left with his Diamond Python. She surrenders it to the RSPCA – but her husband wants it back.
Story 1: The Lone Ostrich – Sydney:
Inspectors Matt French and Gill Hay visit a man who has a pet Ostrich in the backyard of his motel. The backyard is overgrown and lacking shelter and the Ostrich appears to have a wound on its neck. Realising that he can no longer give it the proper care it needs, the owner surrenders the Ostrich to the RSPCA, who then has the mammoth task of transporting it to its new home at Mogo Zoo.
Story 2: My Ex’s Python – Sydney:
A well-cared-for snake is surrendered to the RSPCA by the ex-wife of its owner. The owner hasn’t renewed his reptile license and it looks as though he will not be able to claim back his much-loved pet but he’s not giving up the snake without a fight.
Story 3: Mt Morgan Puppy Surrender – Queensland
Inspector Shayne Towers-Hammond attends a property where dog numbers have gotten out of control. After several visits, nine puppies in total are surrendered and they are taken in for vet checks and a good clean-up. One puppy, Mutley, is spotted on the RSPCA adoption website and is soon on a plane, travelling to his new home in Mt Isa.
