Migos Rapper Takeoff Dead After Being Shot In Houston – Rappers That Died In 2020, Best Rap Songs 2020, Dead Rappers 2020 – Hip-Hop Universe

In 2020, the hip-hop community has suffered the loss of over 200 rappers who made great strides in the rap game. Arguably, one of the most devastating d3aths in 2020 was the passing of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke. The charismatic rhymer, who’s credited for elevating the Brooklyn drill rap scene, was sh0t Los Angeles on Feb. 19, 2020. His d3ath stunned both his rap peers and devoted fans. Later on in the year, two Chicago rappers, FBG Duck and King Von, both di3d in separate sh00tings months apart from each other. Their d3aths have brought a dark cloud over the Chicago rap scene. Elsewhere, the COVID-19 pandemic certainly made life challenging in 2020 as well as devastating for families who lost loved ones to the virus. Bronx rhymer Fred The Godson was hospitalized for several weeks before he passed away from complications related to the coronavirus in April. Also, rappers like former Roots member Malik B and Jordan Groggs of the Arizona-based hip-hop group Injury Reserve passed away from unknown causes. But the majority of the rappers that passed away last year never made it on Hip-Hop media platforms and news outlets. Only a handful of cases have been reported and thus most people in Hip-Hop only mourn the d3aths of a handful of people. Hip-Hop is in a messed up place right now, I will show you what Hip-Hop media outlets have been hiding from us. We’re losing hundreds of rappers and thousands of young people through sh00tings & drvg abvses but were still acting like everything is fine with this culture. Hip-Hop was created to mitigate the problems on the streets but we lost our principles over the past decades. I had to do an intense research to find information about the people in this list. No media outlet wants to report about rappers with “no cloud”, they only create articles about popular artists to increase their own popularity. I went through various fan pages on social media, memorials & data bases to come up with this list.

Hip-hop has arguably been the best genre of music in the past two decades. As hip-hop maintains its title, a lot has changed about the genre, such as the lyrics. Hip-hop has two phases, old school and new school each of which give off a different vibe.

Old School “Hip-Hop” has music based prevalently on African American culture. Artists such as Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and Eazy-E often rap about the struggles of growing up and the work they put in to get where they are today.

In popular songs such as “Changes” by Tupac and “Juicy” by Biggie Smalls, the artists explain how they went from “negative to positive” as Biggie put it.

Old school hip-hop is still popular today and is regarded as “classic” by many hip-hop fans.

“New school” hip-hop has different types of lyrics. Rappers from today’s generation sing typically about girls, money, and cars they have. Some even sing about how they do drgs, drink alchl, and party which sets a bad example for some listeners. Some of these rappers today did not have it as hard as rappers back in the old days.

People who grew up listening to Tupac, Biggie, Eazy-E, and so on typically do not enjoy hip-hop in today’s era. Songs written when rap was introduced were lyrically better because rappers were able to tell a story using words that rhyme and flow.

Some songs are also more appealing to fans because they can relate to the struggles their favorite rappers faced.

People of this generation are used to listening to new school hip-hop which is the most played genre on the radio. These same fans reject old school Hip-Hop as a part of the music genre. There are even rappers who know nothing about the most influential Hip-Hop artists.

Growing up listening to Eminem has caused me to fall in love with him as an artist. He introduced me to Hip-Hop. But I noticed a change in the music industry over the past few decades. This channel will document how Hip-Hop has evolved over the past 40+ years.

  1. Yes, you heard it right… we lost 200 rappers in 2020. I didn't want to make this video but I had no choice. There is no other major Hip-Hop media outlet that reports about all the deaths in this culture. It took me a couple of weeks to compile this list as nobody really cares to report about all the cases. People only mourn the deaths of the most popular artists (sometimes to increase their own popularity), nobody cares about all the non-celebrities that are dying in this culture. We're losing way too many people & the Hip-Hop media only reports about 5 cases as if everything in this culture is flawless. Hip-Hop is in a messed up place right now, it was originally created to mitigate the violence problems on the streets, but 40+ years later the number of cases are higher than ever. We need to do something against this, share this video & educate everybody! I don't want to create this type of video ever again! People always use this "But we lost rappers back in the day too, nothing has changed since then, you old head" argument to belittle me & my efforts to address this issue. But I don't want to preach all the time, do whatever you think is right!

  2. Most of y’all black Americans wasting opportunities in the US, your fellows in Africa are struggling in the fields and farms with nothing better to eat and you there messing up, playing with guns Wise up bros
    Love from GH 🇬🇭

  3. One thing they all have in common other than a few old school sounding artists: their music is absolute garbage. Maybe this trend is a good thing

  4. Is that the same girl who was on Dr. Phil complaining about white people wearing braids(the Norse invented braids) while getting destroyed by Amala Ekpunobi?

  5. Alotta rappers that died dissin other dead people or got guns in they video like they was out drillin on most of the other rappers on this list I feel bad for those who died in car accidents or drug overdoses but you can’t condone violence and not expect it to come back to you R.I.P. to all 200 rappers

  6. "I can't be fucking with these bitches they be fucking with these niggaz, I can't be fucking with this niggaz they be fucking with these bitches." Truly. Truly riveting stuff.

  7. I counted all of them and found that:
71% of rappers on this list died of gun violence
10.5% of rappers on this list died of other causes (stabbing, car accidents, etc.)
10% of rappers on this list have died of unknown causes
3% of rappers on this list have died directly of drug overdoses
3% of rappers on this list have died of heart attacks/complications
1.5% of rappers on this list died of COVID-19.
1% of rappers on this list died of seizures

    In numbers,
    142 of gun violence,
    21 of other causes,
    20 of unknown causes,
    6 of drug overdose,
    6 of heart complications,
    3 of COVID-19,
    and 2 of seizures.
It's crazy how we just let this happen and no one tries to fix this or act upon it.

  8. I can’t believe there was that many mumbling rappers out there , not been funny but they think (thought) it’s a game playing gangsta
