Is it possible to live without a head? Some living beings have such a superpower. For example, a cockroach can go without its head for about three weeks. And a severed snake head can continue to function for about twelve hours. Scientists wondered how other animals react to decapitation. For example, mammals. Therefore, in twenty eleven, Dutch scientists decided to experiment on rats. To their great surprise, they really detected the animal’s brainwave activity after cutting off its head. This raises the question: does the same thing happen to a person? Of course, no such decapitation experiments were officially conducted on humans. But there are some recollections of eyewitnesses concerning guillotine executions. They can serve as an argument for the theory that the brain is capable of functioning even after death. In this video, we’ll try to figure out: what happens to a person during decapitation? Is a severed head capable of regaining consciousness? And most importantly, can a person survive decapitation?

Most human method of killing of any sort is a paradox isn't it?
I was executed by the guillotine. Completely lost my head. I've been voting Democrat ever since.
I could have done without seeing that thumbnail.
if charlotte corday was a moblewoman, i definitely am part of the british royal family
Pretty sure being strapped to a big enough bomb would be the least painful as it’s literally a split second but other than that to preserve body would be asphyxiation while asleep.
Some people die while sleeping in house fires as the smoke inhalation asphyxiates them.
ROFL
😧🤢
Id rather be shot in head
We don't even know what forms conciousness, who in the hell knows what would happen to a person in full head transplant. I'd rather not think of side effects of such procedure because I'm sure in real life they exceed my imagination
Charlotte Corday assassinated Marat. It was a CARPENTER who lifted her head and slapped her face – not the executioner, who was the famous hereditary executioner of Paris, Sanson. Sanson was so mortified by the incident that he published a written apology confirming the ‘slapper’ wasnt a member of the execution team but a carpenter employed to make repairs to the equipment. Thanks to Sanson the carpenter spent 3 months in prison.
Pretty sure that you can probably get this info from wikipedia if you bother to do some basic research.
And by the way, the incident is infamous because Corday’s face took on an angry expression AFTER she was slapped.
But head transplants have already happen at least twice…
Imagine still being conscious and trying to breathe but cant.
That surgeon is an absolute freak that should be imprisoned. He’s asking $100M for a surgery that you’ll probably not wake up from and that is being banned by every medical community
5:30 After my successful Cochlear Implant two years ago, half the nerves in my face were deceased. But with two months of treatment and almost no (proper) therapy, my face started working again
The experiments on rats are certainly not 'most humane'. Disgusting.
I decapitated a praying praying mantis today bc it wouldn’t die when I tired to stomp it out it was p interesting kinda felt like Dahmer didn’t like that don’t think I’ll be partaking again
Experiment in high violent criminals not poor innocent animals
In high school, our history teacher was insane and we had a week of "top 30 torture methods" LOL
Guillotine was 3 I believe, with being upside down and sawed in half was number one
This is surprising! Can you actually live without a head
It’s a question? How many people deserve? For real? Please ask the question please…
May not be the best way but I watched a video on the correct way to hang (which was almost never used) that made it seem not that bad.
I do not understand at all why a brain should die immediately. Otherwise you could NEVER bring back people with cardiac arrest. Near death experiences demonstrate we can see, hear, dream, while our blood stands still.
As long as there is still energy stored in the cells, they will continue working, nerves will pass on impulses until they run out of chemicals.
It can only be hoped that usually the shock of the beheading knocks (lol – more cuts) you unconscious. But obiously not all the time.
The most reasonable mehod of execution would have to be one that is definite, reliable, and instantly "disassembling" the brain.
But that is then a pretty mess and ugly for the executioner and the ones that have to clean up the mess.
Say, the delinquent gets a hand grenade in his mouth that then is ignited.
Or, as we learned in Uvalde, an AR-15 is also suited to blow off a complete head. For several kids they had to ask the parents for gene samples to identify the headless body.
Makes total sense to have millions of those in private hands.
MOST HUMANE until it cuts flawlessly.
Man lete tell you the truth!! Death is so frustrating. I have died lot of times in PUBG and it is so frustrating to watch your teammates play while you just sit wait for their death.
Executions are as brutal as humanity existence, what bothers me is to imagine the horrors if secret experiments not just with animals but other illegal atrocities anyone with money or power would be willing to do to people.
Just below my left elbow I dropped hedge trimmers on it and almost sliced it completely off but I sliced it open right where my artery was and even after surgery I still can't feel part of my arm almost 2 years later I don't think I'll ever regain feeling in that part of my arm just a little bit lower from where the cut was
We should invest in head transplants.
