Manchester-based Sanctuary And Safe Haven for Animals Farm has been operating since the 1980s and currently has around 200 animals, including cows, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, birds and more.
The nonprofit organization rescues abused, neglected and discarded livestock animals and works in partnership with Michigan State University veterinarians to nurse them back to health and provide a “forever home” in the sanctuary’s various pastures and barns.
SASHA Farm Executive Director Shara Jones sat down with MLive to tell the stories of a few of the organization’s rescued animals.
