What are some other interesting games that didn't get released?
Bet you dollars to donuts, that the Goemon game didn't sell enough in Japan, so they just halted the translation.
XXL looks better than Super Circuit
nintendo games….blurry half assed rubbish almost all of it.
Rights holders can go to hell!
omg its that ring game hahaha
You shall have changed Klax to Gauntlet IV for the best
That Ring game is so bad it crashed my YT app at that point
you give me shaved bigfoot vibes
Alberich is back!
It's a tragedy that we didn't get FEOE on the 360. Maybe one day it will get finished but I have no idea how hard it is to do fan hacks on Xbox games
I love Castlevania, and while I'm open to the idea of a 3D game for the franchise (so far most have sucked!), this Dreamcast version's level design (from what the video showed) didn't make any sense or capture the feel of the series. Too bad.
Always was a big fan of Working Designs and their follow up company so was really cool to see some of their stuff that never saw the light of day. A shame as I would have probably checked out those titles.
Why was Thrill Kill for the PS1 left out?
Making that Far East of Eden game on the Xbox 360 even if Microsoft paid Hudson Soft is what killed them just like most Japanese exclusives on the Xbox 360 that Microsoft paid for that basically went to die on that platform and the North American Microsoft Xbox branch didn't bother supporting any such games being translated and localized speaks volumes of why you should never support Xbox
Castlevania on Dreamcast… a scam… even Konami excecs knew Dreamcast was NOT profitable for Sega as each Dreamcast sold was not only loosing $50 USD per console sold but more due to the cost of the stupid 56kbps modem Sega of America's staff forced in there.
Period point blank, many Dreamcast games were not as profitable to the companies as Dreamtard fanboys make it seem like… why should a company pay the millions of dollars to make such a game that would end up getting pirated anyway and sold by game shops?
Again those Sega of America live action FMV games being shoved on the Sega Saturn… this is why you cannot buy the hype that claims "Sega of Japan prevented Sega of America" crap… because Sega of America's 90s staff were getting their way 99.9% of the time and if you disagree it's because you just wasn't older than 17 back then aka being able to have your own income and actually decide what to buy.
Sega Soft SUCKED…
Those Sega of America live action FMV games… utter trash
The PS2 Goemon game not getting support may be related to reception and reviewers and sales of the very good N64 game that iirc was criticized for being "short" or something… that type of negativity helped doom many N64 and Sega system games, not just PS2 games…
Working Designs bit more than they could chew…
Was it just me or were the girls in the first Flintstones movies like, way too hot?
I wish companies would just release their unfinished stuff for free after like 20 years. As like, art or whatever.
How about a crunch of all of your skits?
It's a shame that the Dreamcast didn't get a Castlevania game, IMO. This and Half-Life were on my Dreamcast wishlist (at least the nearly finished Half-Life was leaked). It's too bad this and the 32X game didn't get much work done on it.
You have done a lot of episodes. They are all great. Thank you for the Content
Those early castlevania 3d games were just an indication that 3d would need a few more years before that style would work well with that series.
I can certainly believe that Goemon was denied final approval by Sony because of how it looked, because it wouldn't be the first time it happened. Agetec was going to release Shadow Tower Abyss for the PS2 in English, and even got everything translated & ready to go (only the manual was left), but Sony denied it at the last moment because the reps felt that it didn't look good enough, visually, & was worried that it wouldn't sell enough, as it wasn't a major seller in Japan. This was admitted by Agetec producer Mark Johnson, who called it "by far the hardest thing for me to accept and I did everything possible to fight for its release".
SCEA was absolutely anal about this kind of stuff during the PS1 & PS2, for such petty reasons.
23:33 Joe is Mandalore confirmed, also that means he's Sseth too.
Also the game is on PC if you want to play the full game.
Joe I always love your writing. Great channel
You hope the 32x Castlevania prototype gets leaked soon? Why? Are you fear mongering? Do you think we don’t have much time left? What did you do with Dave, Joe?
I had no idea the PCE Off the Wall proto actually publically surfaced; last I knew of it was only a video of an even earlier proto shared by said port's programmer, Jun Amanai; he has also shared vids of the similarly unreleased PCE ports of Marble Madness and Peter Pack-Rat, as well as canned PCE and Famicom ports of Tengen Japan's Game Gear puzzler Popils. I forget if he mentioned why all those were canned (EDIT: The description for the Off the Wall one does mention that it was a combination of HuCard manufacturing costs and the fact that they would've had to do a rotary controller, as there was none for the PCE)
Hello, Game Sack!
Yep, I did know about goemon zero and I Kindy wanted to play it because it was like a sequel to that N64 one …
I didn't know about working design trying to bring it to this side ….
Any chance of more game sack episodes coming to bluray?
Gotta love that random dig at Klax lol
Sweet lord another video from Joe awesome stuff. Thanks for this and all your other videos Joe.
That's right, eat it, Amanda Brook!
You mention the point a↔️b gameplay for this Castlevania. Sega seem to have been doing that since GoldenAxe. Very common. NES did it too.
The Sacred Pools – I remember seeing that game in one of those old Sears or JCPenney wishbooks but I could never remember the name, just the boxart. It had been bugging me for a long time – thank you for finally putting that mystery to rest.
Imagine putting so much work into a game, for it to never see the light of day. Terrible or not, the wasted development time is haunting.
i like game sack videos
One of the things I've always wanted to see, even if it's just an old VHS recording, is the build of Messiah that Shiny reportedly had working on the PS1. It would be neat to see it pushing the limits of the PS1 hardware, and I think the crunchier textures and lighting of the PS1 would've served that game better than the smooth Glide version we ended up getting.
Seeing Goemon with long legs is pretty cursed lol.
I must say that i much prefer this format of half an hour episodes even if it means to cut in half the full consoles games.
They feel much more meaningful and enjoyable. I really feel that it drags a lot and all blends together on the over an hour format.
In the meantime thank you for doing "Game Sack"
Castlevania one would have been my cup of tea.
You're 100%right… The 32x version of castlevania has to be somewhere. Some version should be out there… Who ever was working on it… (I wish) should have a backup on tape or CD, but if it isn't leaked soon, the tape or CD will not be readable. Ha! If anyone recalls, they said that CDs will last longer than the pyramids [fact] and that data will be safe.
No one ever told them about bit rot. 😞🇦🇺
Highly engaging!
Positive comment for the algo. Great vid, I appreciate the hard work.
It would actually be funny if Nintendo DMCA Joe for "imitating" their executives' "LOLOLOL"
These videos are awesome and would love if you could turn down the music a bit in the opener so we can hear you better. Love this!
I wish Scalebound would get finished and released as it looked really cool.
