Territorial Animal Fighting Furiously For What Is Theirs

Territorial Animal Fighting Furiously For What Is Theirs
Spread The Viralist

Most males must fight other males of their species to remain at the top of the pyramid, to obtain and retain mating rights. Have you ever seen two kangaroos fight each other? What about two yaks? If you want to see some of the most intense fightings in the animal world, this is it, so let’s get started.

Lion Vs Lion

The alpha male in this video seems to have it made. Few animals would dare mess with such a powerful predator. He is the master of a territory that includes the pride of females and their cubs. The females will accept him as their maid and protect him until another more powerful male pushes him off his throne. For this lion, it’s just a matter of time because a pair of nomadic males have set their sights on his females. The only way for these male lions to mate is to conquer the dominant male’s territory. If they succeed, they’ll likely kill the cubs and the other young males he may have sired, but this old general doesn’t plan to surrender. This time, he vanquishes his rivals, but eventually, there will be more challenges for this lion king.

There is no such thing as retirement for this male. He must fight for his throne or be cast aside and typically his reign will last no longer than two or three years. Lions fight other lions for many reasons. Sometimes it’s territorial and other times it’s to challenge the leader of the pride, but most of the time, it’s for mating rights. You get a good idea of what I mean in this video as two lions are seen going at each other’s throats when a third lion almost jumps into the fight. Two more male lions fight to the death in this video, as a female stands in the close vicinity. After a tough battle, both lions walk away as if nothing happened, but one lion has a bloody nose and may need some stitches. It’s two against one in this intense video when a male lion must defend his territory at Kruger National Park. The new lion kings refuse to listen to the older master and take revenge on an old enemy. But the old lion bravely fights with honor until the end.

Hyenas Vs. Hyenas

This hyena is being attacked by some of her own kind. In what appears to be an intra-clan battle, its ear is viciously bitten to the point of hanging off and its foot is shattered. Hyenas have no mercy for their prey and will not stop attacking until they are killed. Hyenas often have scuffles between the same member clans or against opposing clans for various reasons. When resources are scarce, like food or stability, hyena clans may strive to expand into the territories of other, less powerful clans. It looks like these two didn’t mind fighting in the mud.

I hope there is a shower nearby, for their sake. In this video, none of the hyenas are laughing. When two brown hyenas who look like punk rock stars decide to fight and settle their differences, it’s not a pretty sight. They are vicious and violent, but all in the name of defending their territory.
