In this video, I will be sharing more about how to grow hip length hair using a historical, natural routine! This is how I grew my hair after a chin length hair cut, and having always struggled with hair growth previously. If you haven’t seen my first historical hair care video, be sure to watch it here:

* My tips for those with finer or straighter hair types who would like to implement this routine
*The natural conditioner I use
* The importance of a specific type of hair rinse
* Specific tips and cautions for clay washes and vinegar rinses to avoid common “starter” issues.
*The main historical hair care tool I think everyone should have in their arsenal,
* The one supplement (MSM) I think many people could benefit from for improved hair health and growth!
Enjoy the video!
*Please note: I was not sponsored to mention either the MSM I personally use, or Cahlia Natural conditioner.

Not everyone's hair stops growing because it breaks off. Not everyone can get long hair retention.
In people like me, it's simply that the Anagen phase (growing phase) of the hair is much shorter than it should be, thus the hair is shed before it can get very long.
Nothing can be done to lengthen the hair if your Anagrn phase has a short time limit. This is genetically predetermined.
I tried it, my hair and scalp responded with softness and waves. I have grey hair, and used a small amount of olive oil with the water and clay. Rinsing well. Amazing❤️
I'm loving your hair videos! I've sent a few links to my husband for some hair products. Thank you! Looking forward to more hair videos.❤
Thank you, my hair care is not a routine it is a daily ritual x
Doesn‘t clay clog the drain? Or is there a solution for this issue?
How is the smell? I care about how does my hair smell?
How much of sulfur do you take?
Having different textures on one head is extremely common among African American hair, I have 4. I'm very surprised to hear that you have the same thing! Love your hair videos, they are so soothing. 🙂
Does it darken hair? I have blond hairlights
Can you please add these hair videos to a historical hair care playlist? That way they're easier to find when I want to re-watch them
Do you have a link for the conditioner you use?
Can you talk about what you do with your hair when you swim both in natural bodies of water and chlorinated pools? I have kiddos that love to swim during the hot summers in the Deep South (US).
I love your videos, but I wish you didn't film the with such low lighting.
I WANT MY HOUR BACK.
I've always wanted long hair. My cousins had straight hair and so it grew easily to the hip but mine which was baby fine and curly like yours never grew longer than just to the shoulder. I got everything you recommended and we will see if my hair grows or not. I'm old though so maybe it will not work.
All you need to grow hair very long guys, is a mutated gene. No matter with what nor how I treat my hair, they grow like crazy and I keep them mid-tigh long, but I had braids longer than my knees. It really doesnt matter, if you use natural or cheapest rossman shampoo, or what the hotel put in your room. Things that somewhat matter are: eating enough, any sort of conditioning after every wash, protective hairstyle to sleep in. But, if you dont have that damaged gene that makes your hair fall out after more years than the standard 7, your hair will stop growing at certain lenght, exactly the lenght it can achieve in circa 7 years.
What about using msm in pills?
Thank you so much for sharing this valuable information. My clay just arrived today and I am really excited to use it. Will you please share your natural conditioner that you used prior to the current one. I am trying to stay away from plastics. Also, you have beautiful skin… do you also have a historical, natural skin care routine? Again, thank you very much. I love watching your videos and I don't even sew. 💖
Hey. Thanks for the video. I'm not sure why but I tried the rinse and clay wash and for some reason my scalp is sooo dry now and feels like its sore in some areas! I don't know what i did and now need something to help! Any ideas? My hair is falling out a lot more all of a sudden and I have dundruff all of a sudden too.
Would this work for coloured hair?? Please let me know 🙏🏼
Hello there, is there any natural way or product to dye or color my hair following your routine? Something natural…Thank you.
I need a vegan alternative to a boar bristle brush. Any advice?
You can say black hair care community.
I watched your previous video and started right away. My hair is slightly wavy. After only 4 washes, my hair is acting better. If that makes sense. I am using what I have…bentonite clay, homemade apple cider vinegar. I actually have several boar bristle brushes coming back into use. I can go many more days between washes. I am 61 and have shorter hair right now. That's because my hair breaks with conventional hair products. I'm excited to see if my hair can grow longer and better! Thank you!
Greetings! I must say I do appreciate the majority of your content but Afro hair and locs must never use Shea butter in the winter because it will solidify in your hair and make it look unsightly.
Dear Katherine, Please please make a video about your MAKEUP (maybe plus skincare) from these two hair videos. It is so mesmerizing… A princess is looking at me from my phone 🤗🤩😍
My hair (fine) has been waist length for a few years now. I had short hair last in 2005 and trim it about a handwidth 2x a year. Just because I don't like it longer, as I find it gets in the way. I use 5drops of argan oil rubbed into the hair for most of the length after washing but not the scalp. I wash 2 to 3x a week because I live in Namibia where it is very hot and windy (dust and dirt). I now tried your caster oil mixed with 3parts of olive oil pre-oiling for 2hours and it worked well. Can't find clay in any health shops etc though in my country
Prenatal vitamins and that shift in our bodies as far as hormones, really boosts hair growth.
I am soo gratefull for your importa nnt video.
I have a question:
i started to not wash my hair for two weekes now, only once with complitly natural oily shmpoo.
My sculp hurts!
I masaj it thrue the day…
I try to moov my hair to diferent directions.
Is this normal? Anything els i should do? Does it go away on its own?
Thank you
Thank you! Have long curly hair is appreciated now. Not when I was younger! Nobody knew what to do with that! At least where I live 🙂 Canadaland…
(Trying to comment to my phone and having a hard time updating my first comment)
Wanted to add, I actually also use my fingers on my hair. I have more control on detangling with fingers. However I do have a great natural hair brush I use sometimes.
I NEVER use heat or processing of any kind.
I got my brush from a Long Hair site in Canada. Since I live in a tropical climate I don’t let my hair in the sun anymore than I would let my skin bake in the sun
I use jojoba oil. Wow I need to check out your shoe making videos. My hair is almost to my ankles. I haven’t washed my hair with traditional shampoo for some years. Can’t even remember how long. I use very diluted apple cider vinegar. Diluted with distilled water and a few drops of high quality rosemary and lavender essential oil. I rarely wash the bottom of my hair. Only the scalp over the sink. I’ll braid then keep the bottom length covered in a cloth tube when I’m working so it stays clean. I use aloe occasionally and coconut oilAs far as shoes!!!
I have many many vintage shoes starting from the 20’s. I have been collecting shoes for decades. (I’m a healthy 70 year old) I originally got into vintage shoes because I LOVE shoes but have an unusual size of a narrow 4 in womens or a size 2 in childrens. I discovered years ago that vintage shoes I could find in MY SIZE! Woo Hoo!😮😁 I’ve never really MADE any shoes but I’ve modified and embellished several. Recently I’ve sold several pair as I’m downsizing but will eagerly looking into your shoe making videos.
What is the high end oil that you use in your hair? Thank you!
Hi Katherine, thanks SO much for your vids, I bought all the ingredients and tools, just want to know, do you take MSM every day?
Rn I am contemplating going the no poo method but I want it to be a subtle transition. And possibly try a different shampoo. So I ordered Tea Tree Oil shampoo and condioner from Maple Holistics.
Both items are supposed to be ph balanced for the scalp. It doesn't have sulfates or parabens.
I'm going to see how it affects my scalp. I am hoping the tea tree oil will be beneficial for my scalp too.
People keep mentioning the hair growth during pregnancy but lots of women lose the hair after pregnancy. So I think the hair routine is still important because it combats whatever changes happen after pregnancy
Also what do you think about living libations for skin and hair care?
Could you do a lemon water rinse vs acv?
