When you hear of dams, you probably have plenty of questions, such as “how do they work” and “where are they placed”.
Another question is what happens when they fail. Dams contain unbelievable amounts of water, so dam engineering can be tricky. If there are any mishaps and the dam fails we are looking at some disastrous consequences.
In this video, we bring you some of the most devastating dam failures that caused both many deaths and environmental damage.
We start with the Tigra Dam in Sank River, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. In August of 2017, the dam failed due to infiltration into its sandstone foundations resulting in the deaths of about 1,000 people downstream.
Next up is the Panshet Dam in Ambi River, Pune, India. The dam failed in 1961 due to the absence of reinforced cement concrete strengthening the conduit. The incident saw 1,000 people killed.
The Möhne Dam in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany was bombed in 1943 during Operation Chastise in World War II, resulting in the catastrophic flooding of the Ruhr Valley. It is estimated that 1,600 civilians lost their lives.
And that’s just a few of the horrific dam failures around the world. In the video, we bring you four more and explore in-depth the causes of their failures and the damages they incurred. Indeed, it seems that when dams go wrong they go very wrong.

OK India Dam🤔
you only post this video 20 times a month
Strange omission of the St. Francis Dam disaster of March 12, 1928 in Los Angeles County, California, killing 431 people and wrecking many buildings and farms. The designer and supervisor of the dam was William Mulholland, and Mulholland Drive in the hills above Los Angeles is an area of wealthy residents. This dam collapse is mentioned in the movie Chinatown.
4:20 The name of the city which was destroyed by a flood on May 31, 1889 was Johnstown, Pennsylvania, NOT Jonestown.
Of course none of the footage shown is from the 1889 disaster.
Vajont dam looks freaky af

I don’t technically think bombing of a dam is a dam failure.
That’s like if I cut someone break lines is a car accident, yes but No.
Mulllaperiyar is in the risk if it collapsed remember 40+ lack people will wipe out but Tamilnadu government won't allow it to rebuild not to long the day will eventually come
Decommission mullaperiyar
there a hidden superpower controlling this nature?

Major countries, whether in terms of financial resources, human resources, power of global technology and other energies, did the human being of these countries wonder why we were not able to protect us from disasters that befall us despite the capabilities we have? Is there a hidden superpower controlling this nature? Who will be able to make these disasters with such power, in all the continents of the planet? it is indeed the creator of this world. No one is associated with him for the creation of this world, he is the sole creator of this universe with all that exists between the 7 heavens and the earth. His name is 《Allah》(God)
1》Say: He is Allah, the One and Only
2》Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
3》He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
4》And there is none like unto Him.
B■
Despite everything, what exists in this universe, You have never esteemed Allah by his just worth, he is Knower of all that you do. ☆What do you answer if Allah (God) tells you in His Quran:
●《And not a leaf falls that he doesn't know》. If This creator knows that a leaf from a tree is falling, and then how come imagined the creator of this world is absent from all climate change and all the disasters that are happening in the planet we live in and even in the sky ? Are the causes of these disasters related to our works? Of course, Allah has demonstrated in his sacred book 《Quran》says: 《Corruption has arisen on the land and in the sea because of what people have done with their own hands; so that [Allah] may make them taste some of what they have worked; perhaps they will return (to Allah)》.(Surah 30/41) Because of corrupt regimes and human evils to go through the many injustices and corruption on land and sea, and all forms of major and minor sins, same-sex marriages, extreme atheism, fight against peace and security…So ,Allah names them all as criminals in the Quran.
Really great documentary video making. Imagine all the epic dam failures before video surveillance.
Dam it India
#decomissionmullaperiyar
Damn😳
Seems like most where in India
Machhu 2 dam Morbi Gujrat has mor dan 25000 casualties…
Che pessimo video. Una schifezza galattica.
The way he speaks is annoying.
It's Johnstown, PA, NOT Jonestown!
😨😨😨
DAMn.
Most impressed with the video footage shot from an aircraft in 1889. I guess that was before color.
Those were some damn failieres
I don’t know why voiceover artists never learn how to pronounce foreign place names
Lets call it.
A Damn Failure.
These breaks of dams shall trigger floods that are like the Flood that happened in the DAYS OF NOAH !
CALLING ALL THE PEOPLE ON EARTH, STOP UNDERESTIMATING GOD'S POWER AND REPENT, REPENT AND REPENT ! THE END OF TIMES ARE HERE !
Title should have been dam failures of British India and Axis countries of WW 2.
Propaganda, eh ?
This looks like a personal attack on India. lmao.
For the German wwii dam they forgot to add combat casualties from the delay and bottlenecking of troops.
god dam
A pity the research for this video didn't include finding out how to pronounce the names of the places involved.
Inclusion of the dams destroyed in Germany is utterly bogus.
Dam.
good india 😂
Jonestown Pennsylvania doesnt exist 🤣🤣 Someone didn't do his research on how to spell Johnstown right.
Everyone was like "Daaaaaaam!"
God is destroying all this bullshit.
Stop building dams. Electricity can be obtained for free from aether technology, which has been hidden, to make us energy slaves. 🤬silly rabbit, tricks r 4 kids.
I don’t understand why they don’t build 2. Reuse the potential energy twice, produce more power, 1/3 more footprint, 40% more cost but up to 60% more output, more control, less risk.
It’s Johnstown PA. Not Jonestown
If you're going to have text explaining everything,, then it's just annoying to have a voice-over, in a "now settle down, children" voice, saying the exact same thing!
Your pronunciation of any word with more that two syllables is unbelievable. Americans, learn something other than “do you want fries with that?”
wow the photoshopping in the thumbnail was so good, I almost didn't see it was fake and I almost didn't click on the video to comment this!
Data proves storms aren't increasing in power or frequency this is a scare tactic used by climate alarmist to push political agendas.
Yes,water scarcity on the way 😀
Another bullshit video. Half the illustrations do NOT relate to the dams in question, and the narrator can't pronounce any names correctly. The Moehne dam is NOT pronounced 'Monay' for example. Just another cheap clickbait video.
