  1. I think I heard in an interview with either Father Ripperger or Father Vincent Lambert that of the people that have some type of mental illness to any degree that much of it could stem from some type of demonic influence like oppression or possession.

  2. Wonderful interview!! Mr. Hoyland was inspirational and I felt a sense of calm emanating from him that comes from telling the truth. Loved the interview and would vote to hear more about psychoanalysis and Catholicism from his perspective.

  3. I found this interview very edifying. Can't wait till you have him back. Catholicism and mental health is something that almost seems taboo to some. Please have this fellow back soon. God bless you both. PS: I admire the fullness of your beards lol I can't get mine to grow thick.

  4. There are a few things Brian said that are certainties and have been expressed by saints such as Saint John of the Cross – to name just one saint.  I've got no doubt that he experienced this. I would also encourage Brian to read through the Doctors of the Church if he wishes to enrich his prayer life even more. St John being one of them describes these same notions.

God's infinite nature – I'm convinced that God gave us discursive prayers and means of meditation (the Bible) because our minds are bounded and simply cannot know what it means to be infinite. Brian said that he sensed God's infinite nature – infinite love. This filled HIM infinitely – cannot be measured or described. Brian could not describe in human terms what he felt but hew knew it was the true essence of God's love and it was knowledge; not of the intellect (he could not remember it) but of the soul he knows, in part what is truth.

Brian mentioned the timelessness of God. This too is part of what seems to be His nature. God's love knows no boundaries whether measured in time, intensity or depth.

Jesus' pain in his passion and crucifixion – Certainly Jesus experienced physical pain which must have been unimaginable, but for us, knowing he died to expiate our sins makes his pain palatable, noble and a gift of love that cant be measured. We realize our sins are essentially dumping on his sacrifice, the pain we feel is what Brian mentioned – complete sorrow and regret.

A final point Brian made was what Jesus said to him when he was ready to return to life – Brian's focus now is to love and give glory to God. This seems to me to be so true and an advanced notion of prayer (again: Saint John). In the end it's not about us, and Brian acknowledged this. It's about Jesus / God and and their essence – Infinite Love. Our job is to remind ourselves and others of this truth and let our lives be guided by this truth.

They don't call it a spiritual journey for no reason. Take the first step – go to Confession. It's a wonderful sacrament.

  5. Very interesting, especially to be a joyful when suffering, so hard. St. Faustina s diary i find helpful with this. Gifts were given Dec 6th being st. Nicholas feast day.

  6. Would love to hear more about Catholicism and mental illness. I got sober 36 years ago. The first thought I had shortly after attending AA and being ‘enlightened’ was, “I’ve got to tell the Catholic Church about this!”

  7. So I pray throughout the day, the rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, I have made a total consecration to Mary, go to confession as much as I need even if it ends up weekly. I pray the Chaplet of the seven sorrows daily and participate in Devine Mercy Sunday for the special indulgences , five first Saturdays, novena etc. I do all these things because I hate myself when I displease our Lord but also because I am so fightened that I will be tricked by the evil one at the hour of my death. I pray our Mother will be with me then because I don't trust myself to be able to discern. That is my fear

  8. Such a powerful, healing testimony. Brian's testimony brings me so much closer to Jesus. Helps me to understand my path, prayer, joyful suffering and sharing Christ's love. Very refreshing and such a beautiful blessing to those who will hear this. Thank you my Catholic brothers so very much.💖🙏💖

  9. Nothing is free when you have an NDE'. A person goes into an NDE' as a non Catholic he leaves it as a non Catholic. Earthy conversion is still the requirement. Allot of deception in most of these NDE's

  10. Ive seen and recd hope from similar stories on utube. Nice to see this one on. Catholic site. Also great to see men discuss and profess faith in Christ. Refreshing and inspiring. We need more of mens catholic faith and morals. Spoken as mother of 4 men and grandmother of 6 near men. Thank you

  11. I got those anthrax shots too and had a heart attack almost 2 years ago. Continuous heart issues, chronic B cell lymphocytosis I think came from the burn pits on Anaconda. Got blown up so I don’t hear well. What was the name of that syndrome you described near the beginning of the video? I would like to research that because it sounds like what I’m dealing with. Thanks for the video!

  12. No matter how long you grow your beard, Kennedy, there will probably be some guy with a longer one. As to your guest, he sounds like an incredible therapist. Wish we had more with his unique perspective.

  13. Jesus came to me while I was in hospital. I was suffering from a lung condition. At the same time I was in one of the spiritually lowest places I’ve ever been. I was in serious sin. He came into the hospital room and completely healed me physically but more importantly spiritually. I felt such deep love. Impossible to describe in words. The King is real. So real. More real than anything else

  14. Very interesting, and I agree, there are lots of NDE's out there, we have to discern those that are Catholic and those that are false. I've seen a few that say, "oh, there's no hell and we were fooled" hey, do you think maybe you were the one fooled?

  15. Very interesting interview Kennedy. I was just wondering so Brian wasn't judged by Jesus at all he just went through his life is that what I'm understanding to send him back? Saint Alphonsus says you're judged immediately after death? But as we know Jesus has his own plans. did you ever hear the case of Father Steven Sheier? He passed away a few years ago. His interview was very interesting I heard him on EWTN quite a while ago.

  16. The question "How do we know if it's God or satan …" we have to remember, God is in charge. God does not compete with satan. Evil is a choice and we can choose it, but God does not allow us to be "tricked" into hell. God asks us to make a clear and decisive decision to either choose Him or not. God is too loving and merciful to allow us to be "tricked" into hell. However, if we are in a state of moral sin, that choice to choose God becomes harder if we blame God for our lives, hate God for whatever reason, are too prideful to see our sin and repent of it, etc, etc, etc. So yes, be holy. Seek confession and the sacraments. Don't rely on your ability to choose rightly, but always trust in the Lord's love and mercy. Salvation was and is always a gift – you only need to accept it and live it.

I'd also be happy to talk about the TLM versus Novus Ordo debate – did Jesus speak to you in Latin??? 😉

  17. Great episode, thanks guys.
Check out Marino Restreppo on YouTube. He has a great conversion story where he had an illumination of conscience. I believe him to be authentic and true prophet of God. I met him in person in 2008.

  18. I was a cradle catholic, due to my very old Irish Catholic grandmother who raised me. I was born out of wedlock, spent 6 months in a comma, my mother was murdered, & I was left from 7th -12th gr to live in a convent school. I married young & was abandoned again by my husband with a toddler, but my faith carried me through without bitterness. But, as I entered into my adulthood I gave myself excuses of sin even though I tried to get back on track. In my mid life I had a near death experience, after dealing w 5 serious cancers, that was similar, with similar recognition of sin & the damage done. I no longer take my prayer life & relationship with God for granted, it is now on a different level. I know I was sent back because I was incomplete & my service wasn’t complete. I have work to be done yet & want to get back in that realm of peace & love. I discerned that God rules with love & to beware that devil controls with fear. Just trust in the Lord.

  19. This is me. So low sometimes in my sins and past sins…"my sins are always before me", that at times I feel so lost. How can Christ still love me? Yet confession brings me peace. Literally suddenly was sobbing in the car praying the rosary yesterday afternoon. More prayer is the answer. A turn of our ways. True repentance. Thanks Kennedy
