  1. Then why do we blame climate change for the drought? Sound argument but seems to me to be a man-made problem given the rain god has provided

  2. California always raises taxes on property taxes, water taxes, and more taxes for "infrastructure". Yet nothing has been done for decades. This is how California works. Raise taxes to fix the problems yet never solve the problems. And our liberal voters are coming your way red states! And they will bring their same voting ways that got California in this mess to your states.

  3. I just read a story from the Mercury News feed that basically said California will not be permitted to store much rainwater runoff to fill the reservoirs because of environmental laws and regulations to protect the Delta smelt, a two-inch long fish that is on the endangered species list. As a result, the bulk of the runoff will eventually end up in the San Francisco Bay, then out into the ocean! Central valley congressmen are angry, saying that we should capitalize on the storms and fill the reservoirs for farming and communities. But, thanks to the multitude of environmental groups in California, and their endless lawsuits, it appears the drought will continue even after record rainfall. this is more proof that Californias water problems are largely manmade.

  4. Absolute BS…only 10% of CA water is for human consumption. The rest is for agriculture. OMG! That wildfire comment is hilarious. Sorry, a very tiny portion of land burnt and the number of days of rain to absolutely saturate the ground is on the edge of unprecedented in my lifetime. I literally lost a 200 freaking year old heritage oak to ground saturation and wind. Not a single broken limb. Don't believe these liars.

  5. This is just a BAD news story. The reporter did not address the #1 issue over population and the #2 Politics of the state of California. See a bunch of comments below. Why does CBS do this??

  6. With pfos and pfaos Yahweh is cursing amerikkka they can't contain the water and if so it's still poisonous cancerous the. Water purification filters are 60 years old. That's way to old to filter for new contaminations

    Praise Yahweh

  7. Washington State rains a lot but does not flood except the very populated areas. Most areas have very large ponds for the overflow and it works. The water then goes to a drainage system.
California might look into the system. But I know they wouldn't because it makes sense.

  8. I've never heard such mental gymnastics in all my life. They really do not want to let go of the eternal artificial drought narrative to keep the populous scared. I be that if all the water in the world feel on ca for the next decade they would still scream drought! Too much money in it I guess!

  9. All the explanations she gave were all dumb and misleading. Ancient people in arid regions had ways of retaining rainwater. We are not thinking long term about infrastructure and that is the reason California, which is mostly desert, has no system to retain flood water long enough for it to either seep into the ground or stored for use in some other way when the the rains stop.

  10. Good news piece. Do people not realize that before all these reservoirs and things that you used to dig a well for access to water, unless you had a running river or lake nearby. Overcoming the drought has to do with replenishing the water table as well as reservoirs. So as much as it sucks that there was much damage and sadly some deaths-that poor 5 year old boy-it will take much conservation to get back to confident levels of drinking water. So let's not run our taps this summer after recovering from this latest atmospheric river.

  11. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I swear you can't make this stuff up. Citarum River, Indonesia is the most polluted water on Earth yet we can go through that water and make it drinkable.

But rain water that falls from the sky is too polluted for human consumption 🤣🤣🤣

What the news will not tell you is that Every house is allowed to collect two rain barrels with a capacity of up to 110 gallons, however, anything greater than that is considered a breach of the law.

That's alright it's against the law I wonder who made that ignorant law oh wait a second I think I can figure this out Democrats

That being said even if it wasn't drinkable is it good enough to water my garden with do my swimming pool with ?

The reason why California is in a drought isn't because of the weather even though they'd like to make you think it is it's because of the ignorant laws the Democrat pass.

Like the ability to collect rainwater

Sores and pipes are ran under the ground that feeds the ocean with this water it can easily be diverted to the lakes that are for consumption or to feed your garden or lawn.

Or to help the water to fight fire.

Look the Earth is 90% water that means 10% is made up of land and somehow we have a bunch of ignorant Democrats that believe that we have a water crisis

    🤣🤣🤣🤣

90% of the Earth is water.

Is the ocean water drinkable? Simple answer yes

Desalination is the process of getting salt out of saltwater so that it's drinkable and usable on land. There are two main techniques: You can boil the water, then catch the steam, leaving behind the salt. Or you can blast the water through filters that catch the salt but let the liquid through.

  12. California was crying for years because no rain, everything is drying up so here you go, be happy now, you got enough water to watering the farm
