High in the Andes mountains of Peru, you can still find traditional Pachamanca, the ancient Inca way of cooking meat, potatoes, and vegetables, in a hot rock earth oven. The way they construct a rock dome, blaze a fire, then cook all the ingredients is truly fascinating!
The alpaca was so tasty and those are easily the best tasting potatoes I’ve ever had in my life.

I can’t believe those ladies are handling those intensely hot stones so effortlessly!! It must’ve taken many years and hard work to build up tolerances
Wow this looks like a lot of work! But I'm sure the food is absolute fire
I have done the nordic version with birch bark and leaves with beef. Super tasty but these ladies are miles ahead probably regarding taststyness 😍🤤 what I wouldn't do to experience that visit and food
That looked good, sweet potato looked alittle over cooked, but the meat looked great I half way expected it to look boiled. Curious as to what the bundle of green put on top was🤔
That meat looks so well marinated. Mmmmm
I remember this when it was first broadcast, brilliant.
Peru if I'm not mistaken, serenaded by the lovely ladies at the beginning.
Similar to New Zealand Hangi that my ancestors used and we now have a modernised version and imitated version
