The justice system in this country is shocking. She should have been excused and praised for her actions.
I love my kids as much as anyone but i am sure I would never be able to do that to someone.

What she did was worse than anything the step father Might have done. As the judge said. She denied him his day in court to test the accusations and evidence. People lie all the time about all sorts of things. The daughter could be lying. She should never have done what she did. She seemed to think she could be judge, jury and executioner…… It's a slippery slope for allowing the worst in society to justify the worst authoritarianism you could imagine.
The thing is that we have no evidence if the daughter was lying. She made assumptions about what her son had said as he never accused the step father he only made accusations of the man he attacked. It seems perfectly possible she tortured and murdered an innocent man.
She should have been given an award.
The legal system will always protect predators and r*pists. She did what was needed to help her children and stop him from hurting another child again. If the court doesn’t change, we need more people like this.
As usual with these cases, I fail to see the problem with what she did. I just think it's a shame she didn't cut off his junk before she did it. Child abusers are less than the scum of the Earth. Let that woman out. If she has to be punished at all give her 6 months deferred adjudication and let her go on with her life as best she can

I have studied American Criminal Justice and it makes me upset that cases such as this are "mishandled". Anger and rage have no boundaries in cases like this one. If my child told me that her stepfather has been doing inappropriate things, the amount of rage I would feel would show no boundaries. Yet our system says that if there is any amount of time between being told and acting then it is premeditated and therefore requires the harshest punishment. True rage doesn't allow you to think, you simply act. She had probably bought the sugar for a simple syrup for something else and just made it, out of not actually thinking. She probably didn't even realize what she did until it was done. I know many parents who have had horrific things done to their children and have told me that they had no idea what they did from the time they found out until after they caused bodily injury to the violator. That the screams is what brought them out of the "trance".
