This tamandua may not have survived if it wasn’t for the swift actions of our rescue team and local energy provider, ICE! But despite the successful rescue operation, the team in Costa Rica now desperately need your help!
As you can see, the specialist pole they used to get the tamandua down to safety wasn’t the most efficient means of rescue. With urban development in Costa Rica fragmenting wildlife habitat, situations like this are becoming more and more common as wildlife use power lines to cross built-up areas.
The amount of rescues already this year is extremely high! This is why we desperately need donations to purchase a dart gun. This is a safe tool we use in multiple projects around the world, including rescuing orangutans in Indonesia! This will allow our rescue team to reach animals in dangerous situations without reduced risk to themselves and the animal. Please kindly make a donation at the link in the comments: https://www.internationalanimalrescue.org/appeal/costa-rica-equipment-appeal?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=tamandua and help us bring more wildlife to safety!
We can’t do this without you!
