The eyes on the clicker are so deformed and covered with fungus that vision is impossible for the clickers.
Zombies in this world are determined by how long they've been infected. The older the zombie, the more dangerous it becomes.
If I remember correctly, Clickers are infected that have been that way for 10-15 years. Their organs have been replaced by and most of their flesh is covered with tough fungus making them considerably harder to kill than someone who was infected yesterday.
