4. i have a really hard time believing that a person would die straight away after being decapitated. the brain would keep on going until it runs out oxygen. it wouldnt take long to die but youd surely have to "alive" for some amount of time. ive seen videos of people being beheaded and theyre definetly alive for some time, and the guillotine would be much quicker

For the National Razor, my history teacher once said that the French never bothered to sharpen the razor each use, so it became more of dull and blunt that it never successfully cut off the head and instead just became a very heavy blunt object that the executioner had to keep lifting the blade up again

33. I forgot the punishment where they force-fed you honey and milk then stuff you in a barrel in a swamp for insects to eat you alive but I'd say that one is pretty damn inhuman. The guillotine is pretty tame compared to that, the judas cradle and the choking pear.
