Just give Fraser the oscar now. One of the best performances by an actor in years.
i dont understand why movies make speech so low these days …. and even the music is as loud, so what is it, the words matter or the music?
I think what sets Charlie apart from the character of Elvis, is the emotional impact he had on the audience in the cinema. Don't get me wrong, Austin Butler did a great job of showing the man behind d the superstar, however Brendan fraser managed to play a fictional character with such grand emotion and humanity that he made us rethink our lives and how we interact with our closest relatives. I don't think that there will be a film that will ever come close to the emotion I felt for The Whale ever
Pizza anyone?….
"People are easily impressed" should have been the line after all the undeserved love this stupid melodrama is getting.
This Movie is definitely worth watching.
The emotion it envoke is so raw, and so deep.
People will argue on the interpretation of many parts of the movie, I think it is not a thing to be argued.
Different person will have different life experience, they will have different value on aspect of life and will interpret the movie differently.
I definitely going to watch this movie for the 2nd and 3rd time.
Never in a million years would anyone have been willing to sit through this ten years ago. Movies are dead.
GO HONG CHAU LOVE YOU
This shit made me cry so much
Just saw last night. Incredible performance he needs that oscar
No, they're not.
Is that Asian girl the one that comes out with Matt Damon and tell him what kind of F she gave him?
“People are amazing” ,,,, WOW
Watched this last night, pretty boring, though it was gonna be better.
Haven’t seen this movie but I would wager he dies at the end.Predictable movie with predictable outcomes.Hardly life changing.
After seeing this movie, I've definitely noticed that, more often, I'm telling people how great they are. This is a really, really good movie for the soul.
I JUST STOPPED crying when I thought about this scene, and now I'm right back to square one.
Hand him the Oscar right now !
When I first saw stills of The Whale, I assumed it starred Mike Stoklasa.
I literally cry just THINKING about the movie, is something wrong with me?
Something about Brenda's gets me extremely emotional. I'm not usually an emotional person
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the clip they show for the best actor category at the Oscars
Brandon Fraser deserves a lot of awards for this film along with Sadie Sink and Hong Chau, most especially Hung Chau. I saw the play on YouTube and it's a completely different albeit beautiful rendition. Everyone brought their A game to this project.
He wants so badly to believe that she's a good person, but in reality she's not, she's horrible, and he's just trying to justify his death by thinking that it's okay to leave now because she's a good person.
If Brendan doesn't win the Oscar for this, the Oscars are bullshit and would prove that they are a political and biased academy.
If he can’t win SAG, which can rise his Oscar win chances, it will be utterly heartbreaking. Brendan Fraser is absolutely outstanding in The Whale and am so glad for all his nominations and really deserves the Oscar but following the BAFTA lose, I am a bit scared but if he can win SAG, he may get a higher chance to win the Oscar. Even if he loses SAG, he will always be an Oscar nominee because this film and all the love he receives for his performance and himself in general will never stop. Amazing man and performance
Heard too many great things on this. Gonna have to wait until it’s on another streaming platform tho.
hong chau and brendan fraser both deserve all the praise for this one
I will try to explain what this film did to me for the rest of my life but I will never be able to. A lot of times I get caught up in sentimental bullshit and I'm like "this changed me!" But The Whale really made me a different person. It isn't just empty sentiment. I have seen every Aronofsky film, I have seen Requiem for a Dream at least a dozen times. It was one of the first films I became completely obsessed with. Brendan, you fucking rock dude.
People are amazing, amazingly rude to me ..
people are amazing, another reason to not eat yourself to death
This movie deserves more attention!!
Seems like Brendan Fraser has done an impeecable job at portraying the role of a father showing his own flaws. We can all appreciate the fact that it takes forgiveness to set things right with your children.
Brendan Fraser and Hong Chau deserves the Oscar!
SROP PLAYING WITH US A24. WHEN WILL THIS HIT THE STREAMING??
LARGE MAN IS SAD FOR 1h 57m
The Movie
Very stagey movie. Never felt like a movie. But a stage play
I really liked this film more than the mixed reviews, it’s very uncomfortable but thanks to Fraser’s performance, it’s definitely one of a kind!
I REALLY want Brendan to win that Oscar, he deserves it more than anyone!
