37. The cats are some of the less convincing elements in the story imho. It's quite common for cats to stare at seemingly random spots. I've witnessed that a few times myself. Cats are quite intelligent and literally try to 'understand' anything their senses perceive. A mere reflection of light on woodchip wall could be enough to catch a cat's interest for minutes
