3. I've rescued a lot of cats that people have abandoned. It makes me sick. Not just for the animal but for how much hardship, expense, and trouble it is for the handful of rescuers out there. Many of us are totally burned out and have to stop at some point. How do we get people to stop abandoning their animals. And at the very least, if you are going to abandon them, get them neutered first. Thanks for rescuing this sweet boy.

16. This is an epidemic where I live. People just push them out, leave them behind or if the cat gets outside they can't be bothered to find them or take them back in.
    I've tried to talk to them & tell them the cats WANT back in but they ignore it or give a lame ass excuse. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.
    I'm calling Animal Control just so they can be ticketed and put in the system. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

17. All I ever wish right now is to continuously have the means to provide a better and happier life for my kitties for as long as I live (and even long after I'm gone). May Jupy's new family be able to provide him just that as well. ❤

23. Jupy is one of my favs from the @catsofsanbernardino girls rescue! His beautiful gentle soul and sad eyes tugged on my heartstrings bad!! The joy of seeing him being adopted by these wonderful human beings was unmeasurable!! All l can say is: THANK YOU LORD!! 😫😭🥲🥰🙏🙏🙏✊💖💜💓

26. i experienced the same thing. my uncle is dating the prettiest girl in our neighborhood. the girl asked to buy a black Angora cat and my uncle granted it. when they broke up, the girl left the cat. so sad to see the cat covered in fleas, starving and homeless.

27. That family that left Jupiter behind shouldn't have any pets at all and they should be found and charge with animal neglect for what they have done.

31. So I know people are mad at the former owners, but there could be hundreds of reasons why he got left behind. Maybe he was lost and they thought he had died? Maybe he was lost and they just couldn't stay to find him and thought he was gone for good. Why they didn't go back or try to find him? I don't know, but it just is odd that someone could do that for no reason and just leave the cat behind.

    Or it could be simple as they were just bad cat parents and didn't care about him?

32. We adopted a cat left behind by his family. Chester was an indoor/outdoor cat and never one to come when he’s called. He beat the crap out of the feral cats, though. We let him come in for the night when he wanted until my daughters took their cats to their new apartment. Chester was 12 when we took him in and has been the joy of our life. He’s super old now and may not last the summer. He’s got better manners than most people.

37. My wish for people who do this is for them to be dumped into nursing homes by family members who will never come to see them.

38. My Maine Coon cat was a rescue. He was left behind when they moved. Lucky for him they didn't put the toilet seat down. He was part of our family for 13 years (and still is in our hearts). We miss him so and he's been gone over 2 years now. We now have a new rescue who lost (literally, it was blown away) his home to Hurricane Ian and was left to survive on his own. When we rescued him, he was highly stressed, malnourished, had a urinary tract blockage, and was skittish. He has come a long way forward but it will take time. How can people be so heartless?
