I live near to this accident, and it was a complete tragedy. At that roundabout you have to go really slow and I don't know what the driver was doing, but he definitely did not go slow. Some of my friends knew the victims in the crash, and our whole community is thinking about them. It is really sad to have a wedding end like this, but my heart does go out to everyone involved in this crash, family members, first responders, and everyone else.

In Australia the government and road construction companies turn the roads into hazards full of confusing witches hats and other road hazards under the guise of safety bollards. They then stand on the road for months, if not years, not doing any noticeable work and not trying to finish the roadworks in any reasonable timeframe. Adding to that obvious hazard in a known fog zone they have, according to the locals, built a roundabout that isn't even round. No doubt this driver would do things differently if he could do that drive again but the fact remains the government has turned the roads into obstacle courses with no room for error and this is what happens when you rely on witches hats to keep people safe. People will always break road rules, people will always hit kerbs. Most times nothing bad comes of it and the government just collects fine money and goes on letting the roads be obstacle courses. On this occasion the worst did happen and the government and their road construction mates are just as responsible, if not more than, as this driver.
