Chumpuang (ชุมพวง โคราช) is a very small rice farming village in the Isan province of Thailand. Photos and details here: http://migrationology.com/2014/07/chumpuang-thailand-isan/
I had a few days to spare, so Ying and I decided to take a trip to the Korat area of Thailand, which is in the Isan province of the country. We caught a bus from Bangkok’s Mo Chit bus station, and got on a bus that took us to the small rice farming village of Chumpuang (ชุมพวง โคราช).
During the bus ride we took a couple of breaks, stopping for lunch at a restaurant. Lunch wasn’t the best Thai food I’ve ever had, but it was pretty good and it satisfied. We finally arrived to Chumpuang, about 6 hours from Bangkok. It was so great to get out of Bangkok for a bit and to enjoy the fresh air of the Thai countryside.
Chumpuang is really only a tiny rice farming village or town, and it doesn’t really have much to offer by way of attractions. But the great thing about visiting is to just experience the local Thai way of life, stroll through the beautiful rice fields, explore the evening food markets, and of course to eat and sample the delicious food available in Isan.
I would love to know what you thought of this video – it’s my first time to ever try a vlog style format – so I would love to know what you think about it. Thank you for your feedback!

Mark: long time watcher and you have great videos. I don't know what video program or deck you use to edit them, but the gain on this video was highly variable. The volume of the music as many dB louder than the commentary, making watching a somewhat painful experience. I spent the video riding the gain control on the volume. There are programs to even the gain once your entire video is done – worth considering. Thanks for sharing your travels and eating!!!

I live in a very modern metro and I carry my own metal chopsticks and spoon. You can imagine what I think of the "sterilizing" method for their spoons. You do know you need to boil hard surfaces for longer than a dip to kill germs. Ugh.
Love that password!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny thing about mangosteens, the number of "petals" on outer skin at the bottom matches the number of the white bulb inside 😀
