  1. I love being part of your journey, your Somali brother and a companion of space journey, let's GOOOOO!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!

  2. I couldn't give a shit about it only being 30fps on the console. It working consistently and well is far more important to me.

  3. To the commenter that said FPS makes or breaks games. No, it doesn't. Frame drops Break a game. You can have a game at 60 FPS and if it dips to 50 or 40 all the time? you'll notice it. If you have a game that's locked at 30 FPS but doesn't dip frequently? You won't notice it that much. Especially in an RPG that's not a competitive e-shooter. Most people cannot tell the difference between 120 FPS and 60 FPS. It's a Bethesda game so you should be playing it on a PC anyways, they are always better on the PC. 19:36

  4. The game world does not have a single planet, it has a maximum of 1000 models of planets and moons, exploration takes place in such a way that you can choose a landing/teleport location on these models, wait for loading, enjoy the cut-scene, and explore the world around your ship, which is limited to approximately 2km2 , which was created during loading.. Then you go back to the ship, loading->cut-scene, it throws you into space, and you choose another place to land on an imaginary planet and repeat. When you leave the area.. it will be deleted, except when you build a base or it's hand crafted content. but you can build a limited number of bases of about 30. In this way, you can really have 1000 planets/worlds, but rather as an illusion of the size of the game world, which actually exists only on the map (except for manually created locations: cities, etc.)

Howard: "You can land and explore the area around your ship"

This is, among other reasons, why you don't have ground vehicles or atmospheric flight, (besides that Bethesda hates drivable vehicles and is lazy to create a driving/flight model) you won't use it for such a small area..

For less informed players who think the engine can't handle it..

It wouldn't be so bad if they just said outright that it was something like a bigger and expanded The Outer Worlds and didn't misrepresent the game.

Now have time to get pre-order money from players before it is found out.. and some players will be put off.. meanwhile they can cover it up by talking about 30fps.

  5. I'm actually sad to say this… but I was quite disappointed.
I have gone from being quite hyped about Starfield, to very reluctant… I was just hoping for more (that just may be me being naive, but still).

A game with "huge" space exploration, but you are forced to be walking around (or maybe only using a jetpack like basic traversal in NMS)… it just doesn't sound very intriguing.

I was expecting/hoping for some sort of planetary vehicle traversal (cars, trucks, rovers, hover-bike, mining vehicle, anything(!)).

The fact that atmospheric flight is not a thing also bums me out. Not being able to fly around in the atmosphere of planets to choose a landing spot also seems like an annoying restriction to open gameplay and immersive traversal. It just seems boring that you should be restricted to some sort of pre-allocated landing spot.

  6. Very interesting comment from the one guy in chat about the area around where you land being limited in size and the game forcing you to return to your ship. Todd did make a somewhat odd comment just before the first combat was shown, he said something like 'exploring is different in this game due to its scale, that usually involved exploring an area you've landed in'.

I thought that was strange statement when I first heard it, and now this random chat member's comment has me thinking that maybe there's some truth to that. Maybe only a certain area of landmass is available to you when you land in any specific place.

  7. I am pretty sure it is the Arch, but looks like something catastrophic happened, like a asteroid hit, so all that you see is the Arch and dry, cracked earth all around it.

  8. I'm not ashamed to say I pre-ordered. And I'll explain why.

I want to vote with my wallet. If this breaks pre-order records it sends a loud and clear message to studios and publishers that THIS is what we want to see more of. Games like this. And I'm willing to pay extra, if the game is like 200 hours long!

  9. The Starfield Direct made me remove the game from my Steam wish list. My two favorite things in gaming are Bethesda's single player RPGs and space games. But the Starfield Direct felt like a sizzling iron plate of fajitas made with Asmongold's $2 steaks. Platypus and mech ships, that's what they wanted to show off? Being tethered to speed of walking at your landing zone without even a rover, are they crazy? Get the @^&$ out of here with that nonsense.

  10. I bought the Constellation Collectors edition, the controller, and the headset. The Starfield Direct was phenomenal, way beyond my expectations. But damn it anyway, we have 3 months to wait!!
