  1. This video is almost 2 years old and I remember when Ben caught Covid. That was a scary time, when I was hiding at home, like a hermit to avoid catching the virus and I was living vicariously through watching Ben's adventures on YouTube. I caught Covid a year later in March 2022, the first time I ventured out in public, and oh boy, it was bad for 3 days.
On the second night, my breathing was so bad, I wondered if I would be still alive the next day. I got over it after 2 weeks without residual effects except for tiredness. I'm glad Ben survived Covid and he was able to continue documenting his adventures and entertaining us. Thank you Ben for helping me get through this terrible time in our history. Thanks JaYoe Nation because you helped me get through it too! Cheers!

  2. I just came across your video I just came across your channel actually didn't look at your channel but I'm still watching this video. 31 minutes and counting.
I only started watching a lot of people on YouTube when the war started. I realized my friends were in the US and England and a little bit in Europe and I don't know people in Ukraine so I went off to find them. There are some. And there are a bunch of young Russians and a couple middle-aged, who are against the war and saying so. And I follow some of them. Basically I am following a war and a diaspora. And getting to know people and learning that the world has changed since the '80s. I wasn't expecting shopping malls in Poland, was I expecting bread lines in Russia? I don't know. I've learned a bunch of things about other people. I mean I knew they weren't terrible people but some people are prone to having terrible governments. Repeatedly.

Somewhere along the way I ran into Johnny FD who happened to be friends with bald and that's how I learned, two years later, about the COVID and then I was digging around trying to see if I could find it and thank you for the note that he left behind because I didn't see that. Somebody rescued the original video and I finally saw that. And of course that's how you popped up.

It's unlikely that I will watch your channel again, but just because it sounds like more traveling and exciting lifestyle, which is better than what do they call those people? Influencers. It's better than that. But I'm more interested in the human affects of the war, at the moment. And actually there are a bunch of Ukrainians I don't follow because all they do is talk about troop movements and strategy and I'm not interested but I am interested in the human aspect. It's like why is this happening, what are these people like, what is their life, what is going on with them? I have a friend who's into the war part. I'm not.

However, having watched 31 minutes of your video so far, even though your content isn't something that I'm probably interested in, I really like your style and I really agree with your point. Even if you made it two years ago.
And now I should probably check in with that girl in my favorite country, Poland, who is about to take off on a journey, on foot, in the winter. I don't think it's the smartest thing but she's determined and she's as prepared as she's going to get so, I want to keep an eye on her and see how it goes. And hope she'll be all right and maybe I will get to see more things in Poland. And it won't be as great as my favorite, the former American in Ukraine who moved to Poland and settled down and showed us the public transit in Warsaw and the various neighborhoods, but it will be Poland. I've had a thing for Poland since 1985. Because you know I have to pick the difficult languages… Oops. But at least it's not in Cyrillic. And there was a hiatus between 1986 and this past March, but now I have gotten to vicariously wander the streets and read the street signs. And I think originally it was meant to be a travel channel but it turned into an immigration channel. Sort of. Now it's called planet James. I think that's one word. And it may go back to being just travel. But at least there will be lots of comments in Polish which I can attempt to read before I press the translate button. 🙂

Thanks for this video. You know why the algorithm showed it to me. And good luck on whatever it is you are doing now. 🙂

  3. Honestly still sick of people like him. Why does it need to take him nearly dying to realize the view he was spreading was incredibly dangerous. I mean, the world was shut down, he still taveled, people were dying and he complained about needing to put a mask on, then told the trolls to wear one because of his experience. Lack of hindsight, doubt he's even learned his lesson or cared to change. Sure, he's charismatic, but his fanbase reeks.

  4. Watch Vashya in the hay,He is a Russian blogger who helps a lot of ppl from the former soviet block,You could learn something,Try and do something like that Matt and I will subscribe and support you any way I can.

  5. To be fair, Ben gave a perfectly sensible explanation as to why he took down the video. It seems you are projecting an entirely different reason for that decision. Why is that?

  6. O caught Covid early on and it really fucked me up, I honestly thought I was going do die. I was too scared to call an ambulance but with hindsight I definitely needed one one an proper

  7. Great video. I share your sentiments. There is no ego in the videos, just real story telling from experience. I likewise appreciate Indigo Traveller. You should check taht out also.
