RESQ received a call about a dog which had got her head stuck in a piece of PVC pipe. Despite attempts by volunteers and community feeders, the dog evaded capture for quite a few days. The pipe cut into his neck, leading to several large wounds, and soon, maggots infested those wounds. Finally, the dog was caught by our onsite team and brought to the RESQ Centre.
The PVC pipe left behind deep grooves along the dog’s neck and maggots had caused those wounds to become infected and deep. The actual pipe was cut away using wire cutters and then all the wounds were thoroughly cleaned and dressed. We have named her Kayan!
