Spread The Viralist

In this episode of First Person Defender®, our Defender is caught in a road rage incident.

First Person Defender takes regular “good guys” and puts them in an intense, real life, self-defense situation. We use Simunition guns and ammo, and force on force training to see what works, and what doesn’t.

  1. Being left handed saved my life in a similar situation. The problem is how quickly an armed attacker can close distance. If you're not expecting it, it happens instant. I keep a quick draw holster between my seat and the center console. I point the pistol backwards so when i draw with my left, it's like a stamping motion. I was able to draw, put one in the chamber, and put 5 shots on target in about 1.5 sec still sitting in drivers seat. Lefty rocked for once!

  2. I don't remember the last time I heard of someone being fired upon while driving AWAY from an idiot brandishing a firearm. An automobile can wick us away from danger within seconds, and there's no potential legal ramifications or an escalation of the situation. I knew someone who pulled over to confront another angry driver; the stranger followed and flagged him down. Sadly, the situation escalated on the roadside and my friend was shot dead; his wife and small children witnessed the event.

  3. Totally not realistic. Your hand will miss going under seatbelt( like his did). Your watch would get hung up on the seatbelt ( like his did). Sweeping across steering wheel takes too much time just shoot through the windshield. Laying the seat back is dumb, takes what too much time while most are powered these days. Taking cover behind the door is dumb do th the fact that it's not ballistic protection. Soooooo much wrong with this video. Terrible lessons

  4. Youtube throttling this kind of content is a public disservice. Perhaps a social media barrage of saying they hide life saving content is killing people.

Many years ago these videos get 800k-1.5m views, but their newest content barely hits 70k.

  5. You know, coming into this new, I thought all these guys on Youtube looking around after their shots were crazy, stupid or op-nerds or something. Now I understand it's probably good to do that to remind yourself to look for accomplices. I know if I had just shot someone, I probably wouldn't think that far ahead unless it was "muscle memory."

  6. well its a good thing Im left-handed. Puts me at an advantage. Disadvantage is lack of control of your firearm and exposure, whereas right-hand draw means you have to crossover to aim.

Big thing tho is I can draw with left. undo belt with my right and then cross. Something He never explained if your lefthanded. Just thought I threw in my 0.02

  7. Good video, however, most of the gun carrying populous preaches conceal carry. Me? I have always been an OWB guy simply for ease and quickness. I do have holster mounted under dash and within reach while in car and practice often. Do what is comfortable and what comes naturally and practice, practice, practice!!!!
