The animals left behind in the burn zone have not received food, water or medical care in over TEN days!!! FEMA and the local emergency management officials are refusing to let the Maui Humane Society or the certified animal rescue teams which have flown in from the mainland into the restricted area either to aid animals outside or those trapped in the buildings which did not burn. People have been calling politicians, demonstrating, everything and they CANNOT get help for their trapped animals. This is in total violation of the 2006 PETS Act, which was created after hurricane Katrina to prevent EXACTLY what's happening now!

By law MHS can assist in evacuation a should have access to do so.
Thank God for people like these saving these animals. The police tried stopping people from feeding stray starving cats. Total scumbags. If they told me that, it wouldn't go well for them.

This is so Sad many pets were left behind to burn! Hopefully the surviving pets can get the necessary help they need! I’m sure there many Pets that have trauma and emotions as well as their owners who are probably suffered so much loss! Hopefully they will be able to reunite with their owners if they are physically able? God bless those helping these pets! My heart breaks just knowing so much suffering and loss in such a beautiful island! May God help them heal, bring comfort and provide all they need during this difficult time and help them rebuild their land!

Hawaii has one of the loudest sounds systems in the country to alert citizens of danger. Why weren’t these innocent people warned?!!! To adore and respect lives of one yet torture, hold in beyond sadistic confinements, repeatedly forcefully impregnate, slaughter others is beyond despicable. And all that psychopathy and misery, only to self-inflict numerous diseases, chronic inflammation and destroy everyone's habitats.

I love animals. However, Maui native residents say there was no rush to help for them, even when they had to jump into the ocean to save their own lives. Yet the Humane Society wants to “rush in” to help the animals. Society is so twisted
Very high recommend is get your cats or dogs microchips, that’s big help to get back to owner..
All of my cats and dog got microchipped, all my babies are safe..

I’ve been so sad thinking about all the loss of life including pets. I have a cat who is my heart, it takes a while to get her in her carrier so I can only imagine how many ppl sadly passed away trying to get their pets 😢😭
