  1. I’ll never understand the lack of common sense…if you are on the coast/beach and you notice the tide has washed all the way out ….why doesn’t common sense kick in and tell you…what goes out had to come back ???

  2. i remember seeing a documentary on the indian ocean tsunami. a woman told her tale, and it was a terrible one. her husband and young son had decided to go to the beach, as many seashells had been appearing from the pulled-back tide (due to the upcoming tsunami, unbeknownst to them). the mother decided to stay at the resort, and take a warm shower instead, having no idea that her husband and son had just left to their deaths whilst she would live.

and then there in that clip from the indian ocean tsunami, you can hear the people crying out in fear,
"_what is that? what is that?_"
the worst thing is, there was nothing they could do.

  3. Those tsunamis also effected the US West Coast, especially in Southern California. Some boats were slightly damages at Santa Barbara, Ventura County and from Point Concepion down to San Diego.

  4. Given you seem genuinely curious for feedback…

First off, the time and effort it takes to edit any video 17ish minutes in length, is no easy undertaking and deserves applaud. 👏🤘

The diversity of shots is unique and appreciated. The before and after photos of the cities being buried were the most dramatic of all (they really put into perspective how easily Mother Nature can reset everything, while alluding to a lot of historical mystery and questions regarding lost/undiscovered civilizations, animal and plant species, etc).

The initial context for each event is helpful as well.

A few things you may consider adjusting in future videos that would be easy, save you editing time, while adding a lot of emotional impact:

    – Let each clip sustain for longer, while utilizing only the absolute best clips.

    – Don’t use so many dramatic sound effects. The visual insanity of the events unfolding in and of themselves, mixed with the natural camera audio is more eery and dramatic than any sound you could add. In fact, the added sounds trivialize the extremity of these events and the emotional weight they carry for all those involved.

    – Along the last point, while providing some initial context for each event is helpful, there is way too much commentary in this. While the intent is likely an earnest effort to showcase how dramatic these event are, too much talking/commentary ultimately trivializes the ineffable force of nature/these types of events, and doesn’t give the viewer an opportunity to steep in their own emotions/form their own conclusions/process what they’re watching.

Videos like this are valuable though, so thank you for your time and effort making it! ☯️🤘
