Explaining How relays work and How to test them. Every car has relays, but why? what do they do? and how can we check if a relay is bad? Understanding relays’ purpose and operating principles is an important step in being able to diagnose various electrical problems. (relay testing made easy)

Thanks!
Is relay for single face ? and contactor for 3 phase ?
This is one of the best videos I've ever watched!! Thanks a lot for such and friendly and informative presentation, it really is very helpful!!
Excellent video.
The best video with great explanation EVER! Thank you so much!
My Subie Impreza 2008 model is showing ABS and handbrake lights on. i took it to my mechanic to have it checked it out and they didnt also find any issue although the diagnostic machine indicated "MOTOR & MOTOR RELAY as the problem" but i am not sure if they tested the motor relay. The braking still works perfectly well and i have driven it for now 3 months with the ABS light on and still havent had any braking issue (No skidding, no delayed braking etc).
What could be the issue?
I love Youtube University. Thank you for your videos! Keep up the amazing work!!
Thank you. Beautifully done.
It is a helpful to make me clear to know the relay circuit test.
I am very appreciated very much.
Can this video get some claps/high fives? Damn. this is some quality stuff! Thanks a lot for this super informative 8 minutes! Will watch again and do some tests on my car. Would love to hear more on the final part when you are testing the relay connections on the fusebox with the red side.
Also: can i just use the multimeter @ 12v to test the clicks on the relays? thanks again!
I have a question can you please tell me what this cable goes to doesn't go to the positive side or the negative side this black little cable
This was by far the best and down to the point video I have ever seen.Congratulations
I needed that lesson! Thanks
Normally there is more then one relay of the same type (characteristics) in the car. If I suspect one is bad, I swap it with another. If my problem is now gone, I found the problem, and order another relay.
In older vehicles, it is prudent to replace Relays in the 20 to 25 year range proactively. The cost is modest. While most Relays will probably never reach their open/close cycle life, age can and will compromise their integrity over time. Swapping Relays can be a quick fix to get you up and going… but who wants to crack the hood and troubleshoot on a cold winter morning when you are running late for work or school. Just something to think about. Great Video!
Great! Simplified explanation that helps make sense of electric relays and circuit

Horn doesn't work, also the front parking lights don't work, the horn itself is fine, relay is fine, fuse is fine. jumped a wire to pin 30 to 87, horn still doesn't operate but front left side parking light comes on?
this video is thumbs up
it actually helped me understand relays. i dont know too much yet on electricity but want to learn. good video.
i need to test a starter relay on a pontiac g.p.
Your videos are worth their weight in gold! Thanks man

EXPLANATION ABSOLUTLY PERFECT

KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK
Very helpful and gave a thumbs up
Good video, thanks. So, if the ohm reading is high on the load circuit, like 25.6, or 33.6, when you add current to it, means that the relay is bad?. You know, since pin 87 & pin 30 ohm reading is not low.?
You mentioned that you would hear a click but then you didn’t mention where you would hear the click or why you would hear the click or what on earth you were pointing at the relay to cause the click how am I supposed to know what’s clicking?
thank you for the video.
Amazing! Only video you need to watch about relays. I'm not very good at understanding and testing automotive electrical equipment. After watching this Great video, I am confident with testing relays and how they work and what their function is. A must watch video for every diy mechanic.
I'm looking forward to watching your other videos.
Wonderful explanation! Learned alot. Thanks
Best video on relays I've seen.
Im seeing many professionals giving this video props. I thought it was nicley demonstrated, but these comments made me hit SAVE!!
