4. All spaniels are best for first time owners. We had a gorgeous english who was the sweetest baby ever. He lived to age 18.5 years old.

10. I would not get this breed. I’m a dog groomer. And this breed is known to get bad and disgusting conditions and diseases. I don’t know if it’s from massive inbreeding or what but it’s pretty disgusting. They constantly need medicated baths. I can remember, maybe a year or two in becoming a dog groomer, one cocker had this weird skin condition where its skin had this thick slime all over its body, and if you can imagine its hair full of this slime, it was just disgusting and disturbing. It makes me feel sad and bad about this breed. It’s not their fault. And just thinking about all the crazy skin conditions I’ve seen in this breed, it is definitely 💯 % caused by constant inbreeding. People need to stop thinking 💰 💴 and more about the dog. That’s why different breeds come out with these horrible diseases, cancers, and conditions. Also, they get these strange huge moles on their skin and these huge lump-like things, the moles also make it hard to groom them.

15. As someone who already has their second cocker spaniel and knows quite a few, I would disagree that they make a great first time dog. Ypu need to be very consistent and thorough in your training otherwise they will do what they want. They have a hunting instinct and they need to be mentally and physically challenged otherwise they will take it out on your furniture.

28. A friend of mine just came with hers to a bbq party. That doggie was sooo happy to see literally everyone, super friendly, cuddly and affectionate. When it comes to other dogs, quite the opposite

30. When they shed, it’s a nightmare. The fur can found anywhere and everywhere in the house. Grooming and vacuuming is expected to be done often. They need a fair amount of exercise or else they would destroy everything in the house. While they can be hyper, they can easily wear themselves out by running too much and that be can be a tad dangerous.
