That is a beautiful bird. Had one fly into our window and knock himself out for a short while. I just went outside to check on him and stood by him until he was able to fly. Took about a half of an hour . The concern was neighborhood cats.
After hearing the terrible things wood peckers do you would have been better off leaving it in the grille.
