If we could talk to the animals the world would be a lot better place to live
Owner of 5 bunny rabbits…or maybe they actually own me. Volunteering at a local Dallas wildlife center…loving on opposums, armadillos, raccoons, birds, fox, etc. My friends jokingly now refer to me as Dr Doolittle and I love it ! actually am able to talk to the animals… unfortunately, they have no idea what The Hell I am saying. ๐
Musical genius
Bit rough around the edges…I don't think his heart was in it. Still the man had perfect pitch and could get through just about any song…invented modern singing really
Una belleza !!ยก! Saludos desde Uruguay!!!!
Beautiful version!!!!
Thanks
I would love to be able to talk to all the animals as they are all so adorable. Alas sadly there are people today who call it Racist.
๐๐๐ Simply fantastic!
I love Louis Armstrong and I love animals. But this song is 2 things I love in one.
I don't think they'll name a car after a rodent.
Louis Armstrong?? — I thought it was Jimmy Durante !! ๐ — It's not really Louis's finest moment…. Leave it to Herb Alpert, or Bobby Darin, or better still Sammy Davis Jnr…
I wish we could get the algorithm to bring this song back….
"and Flea" <3
Dr. Dolittle! โบ๏ธ This was always my favorite ending song in any of the movies I owned as a kid. Animals are amazing~
lyrics:
if…..we……could….talk to the animals
just imagine it
chattin to a chimp in chimpanzee
imagine talkin to a tiger
chattin to a cheetah
what a neat achievement it would be
if we could talk to the animals
learn their languages
maybe take an animal degree
we'd study elephant and eagle
buffalo and beagle
alligator, guinea pig, and flea
we would converse in polar bear and python
and we would curse in fluent kangaroo
if people ask us "can you speak rhinoceros"
yeah we'd say "of courserous can't you"
if we conferred with our furry friends
man to animal think of all the things we could discuss
if we could walk w/ the animals
talk w/ the animals, grunt and squeak and squawk w/ the animals
and they could talk to us
chorus line:
if we consulted w/ quadrupeds
think what fun we'd have asking over crocodiles for tea
or maybe lunch w/ 2 or 3 lions
walruses and sea lions
what a lovely place the world would be
if we spoke slang to orangutans
the advantages any fool on earth could plainly see
discussing eastern art and dramas w/ intellectual llamas
that's a big step forward you'll agree
back to louis armstrong:
we'd learn to speak in antelope and turtle
our pekinese would be extremely good
if we were asked to sing in hippopotamus
yeah we'd say "why-not-amous" and would
and we're sure every octopus, plaice, and platypus
certainly would seem it adds a plus
if we could walk w/ the animals…..talk to the animals….grunt….and squeak…..and squawk w/ the animals
and they could talk…..toooooo……uuuuuuusssss
yeah man
This should be the anthem for any person who takes up veterinary or zoological studies. Love this song.
I like song

UnForgiving Forgive Unforgiving Forgive
You always go to the bathroom 20 times a day!
I think in the next Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film I think one of the characters should introduce this song to Newt Scamander, I think he'd love it! Also I wish they did a wizarding world version of this song!
Absolutely love "the Great Sachmo." I thank my parents and grandparents for opening me up to various decades of music. I love jazz and this man's voice, along with his trumpet, is a delight to my ears.
This song in particular, I love for his classic low voice. Like the song implies, we can learn much from various animals, if we listen, they will talk to you in their own way. Every animal has a place in this world.
