Pugs and many other dogs with those squished faces are very susceptible to having seizures as well. Their domed heads don't allow their brains to form properly. It's another reason why breeds like that cab be notably dumber than other breeds
Didn't mention skin problems and yeast in those folds, or need for C Section and artificial insemination. People need to look at these things when choosing a pet.

100 years ago they had a longer snout more similar to a cavalier king charles spaniel. We need to introduce more genes into the pool like those from the cavalier to maintain pugs but increase their overall health.
What's up with the pug hate? Bulldogs, frenchies, boston terriers and other Brachycephalic dogs have the same problem. Pugs are not the only dogs that have this problem but I don't see any article taking about the dogs specifically. It's always pugs. I wonder what did the pugs do?
