I have immediate family in the police, and some of the things they've told me about are mindblowing. proper MI5 type shit, and whenever I asked why they dont act on it, it's because they can't risk exposing their technology in open court.
suffice to say, cops know pretty much everything about serious criminals, they just can't let the world k ow what they're using so they use it for intelligence rather than prosecution.
