They continue to be optimistic that this little girl may have a normal life. It’s hard work and it takes a lot of work not just in the clinic, but at home. We are so grateful to Heather, Stella’s foster, and @mcprescuepack for getting her to therapy so they can make these changes and give Stella the best chance possible.
After several weeks of rigorous stretching of Stellaluna’s pelvis, in order to rotate her hips into a functional position, they have been able to get, with a lot of manual assistance, her feet planted on the ground. They started functional reach and stretch in order to hopefully activate her lower back and quad muscles while pushing up as if reaching for a dish in a high cupboard. It’s a good full-body activation exercise. After continuing to hold the position manually, they’re able to note some contractions in her quadriceps, gluteals, and paraspinal muscles with this activity. Stella Luna continues to amaze us with this incredible progress.
After months, StellaLuna is pure love and pure joy. They not only committed to fostering her but to giving her life and being out in the world with all the adventures, just as her gigantic heart desires. Massive thanks for the help of everyone and every donation in giving her a beautiful life.
