I had a husky malamute, she lived till 16, we live in the mountains she either wanted to run or a place to nap. These types of dogs are not meant for the city!!!
i despise people who keep animals for NO other reason but to say they have it, as a status symbol. These are greedy people who see and want everything others have whether they need it or not. I have come across many of these people. The fist thing they will mention, when you ask them to let you find them a new home is, but they are worth so much. I always say, their happiness is worth more, don't you think? . Often you have to PAY the lowlife owners, just to rescue the poor dog.

Huskies are one of those breeds that most people should NOT get. Don't get a dog because it's pretty. Get a dog because you want to spend the time and money and effort on the the dog.

Bless you to save this puppy from that miserable life he was having! I HV A SUGGESTION TO PREVIOUS OWNERS..GET A STATUE OF A DOG OR THOSE SMALL RUN THRU BATTERY AND LEAVE IN YR YARD..THIS DEFINETELY WILL NOT HAVE TO EAT OR EXERCISE!!
I worry about you entering the neighbors yard without authorization or Animal Control/Protection personnel with paperwork in our current "Stand Your Ground" era…

Dodo should go and check out northern communities. In Inuit land, northern husky type dogs being attached to a pole with a 4 1/2 feet chain and being fed once or twice a week is the norm.

That poor dog will have been going literally mad! They NEED to walk/run for hours/miles a day just to be happy. They're beautiful dogs but they're working dogs and need a proper, dedicated owner. That's sheer cruelty and selfishness to do that to any dog.
