Big Alaska Bull Moose Fighting -Start to Finish!
Left Hook finally returned to the valley and planted himself in 22’s territory. We could see 22 a half mile away, bedded. He got up and started his slow/deliberate walk, grunting the whole way, audible across the valley despite the raging creek waters. He turned and headed up toward us, we knew Left Hook was somewhere in the hemlocks after a cow, but were waiting in a clearing in case he came out again. 22 started wagging from downhill, and then from the hemlocks came Left Hook, also wagging. Left Hook stopped to rake, and we knew this could erupt.
After jockeying for (SAFE) positioning, we were able to capture this amazing footage from two slightly different angles. It’s the kind of thing one tends to watch a few times to appreciate the power -and nuances- as these massive animals go at it. The fur does fly. Enjoy!
Thanks for watching our channel, we are the husband/wife team of Rick and Libby Libbey, (Libby squared), New Hampshire wildlife photographers (and part time Alaska.) It is our passion to document wildlife of any kind, but moose are definitely at the top. In New Hampshire we spend a lot of our spring/summer hours in kayaks photographing loons and moose in the waters of New Hampshire. And hike many miles in Alaska seeking all manner of wildlife in the fall.

The strength, the agility, the raw power. Unbelievably amazing creatures. Gorgeous!
I’ve seen plenty of moose and eaten plenty. It still blows my mind how weird antlers are lol
At the end they don't kill each other over territory. Humans do. Like now in Ukraine…
Not much of a finish
Yea like wwe
Someone actually caught this on camera is amazing
The winner was slightly heavier looking, and importantly occupied the higher ground throughout; was a no-brainer.
Click bait, no fight to the finish.
Look like two DRUNKS
Once in a lifetime video! 2 60” bulls posturing and scraping on film!!👍🏻👍🏻
One of them tapped out..
I wonder how many one-eye bulls are crashing through the woods, Maybe Rocky or Bullwinkle know…
That younger bull might have to wait another year.
both are old kings trying to hang on !
GREAT GREAT GREAT it must be some thing to hear it and see it live. Thank you for showing it.
First, awesome video. Also, this does not appear to be either of these moose's first rodeo. Amazing. Thank you
@MooseManNaturePhotos agreed … i am an avid moose hunter and as much as it sucks, strong regulations work to preserve this incredible subsistence resource
SOMEONE…plz explain to me what is going on with their constant ROCKING left to right…right to left of their heas as tey ambulate
And then comes August 25th… exit stage left
I’m dancing…dancing…dancing…and now I’m FIGhTInG!!!!!!!
''Hey neighbor ! What a good day to have a peaceful walk''
Intense fight starts
They seem to have rules to the fight. Nobody got hurt.
Nice footage. But "Fight to the finish" implies death.
Thank you for showing us the immersive raw video instead of editing in music, narration and talking points as others unfortunately do.
I actually checked to make sure i was not playing at 1/4 speed.
One fight we watched was from about 1/4 mile away in Denali Natl Park. Even that far away you could feel the ground shake when they hit.
Next thing we knew they were running full speed towards us. We scrambled into the truck and watched one walk in front of the truck and the other walk behind the truck, getting ready to spar again.
All I could think was – “don’t hit the truck, please don’t hit the truck”.
