I never again want to watch the uncensored version. Please, do not watch it because it is more than just disturbing, it is mortifying. Thankfully, this is the last time that I have to see that version.
I also reuploaded this video partially because I knew that I could do much better, so I made a better version.

I remember seeing an edited version of the video on a PBS show that had something to do with railroad safety and standards. (Frontline?). I have always wondered what was going on and who she was. Thank you for naming her and showing how being (understandibly) pre-occupied and distracted cost her her life.
I think its very common for an Engineer to have this happen in his/her career. My brother was buddies with a guy that it happened to.
much like driving distracted maybe by some medical issue /emergency (or anything-) the case settlement most likely was pre occuping their thoughts and simply put safety practices to back burner its so crazy how one momentary lapse in sound thinking can be deadly
4:29 "She was on her way to finalize the divorce with her husband". I guess he isn't going to have to make any alimony payments now. But with the death of Mary Theresa Wojtyla, née Walch, I'm guessing he got custody of their three children if any were still minors..
I still can't understand why there aren't barriers to prevent this type of accident.
I can’t even begin to imagine what torture the engineer went through, and continued to go through.
He couldn’t have seen her until the last minute because of the other train, and even so wouldn’t have been able to stop.
This is why there will be railroads that must be relocated so that those railroads can be converted into a bike trail and give that rail to trail names as a memorial trail for those.
It's ghastly to have to say, but I guess Mary Wojtyla's husband was relieved that no divorce 'ugliness' would be brought up, due to the unfortunate death of his estranged wife
Train speed on the “Race Track” is 70 MPH
not the smartest broad
I was sad to see that her got hit a 🚂
Stupid ppl.
I remember riding brightline and when we were pulling out of the station and I saw out off the window 2 teen girls that raced the train walking and I said look at those idiots
I'm from Russia, I saw this video in 1998. I feel sorry for the woman. This video was downloaded from the FIDO network. My address on the FIDO network was 2:5050.52/100. Later, someone uploaded it to YouTube.
As heartbreaking as the incident was, I don't understand how anyone thought filing a wrongful death lawsuit was a good idea — the fault was hers and hers alone.
Lawyer had, in fact, inadvertently tricked her into it. He firstly moved swiftly toward the other side as if he were definitely going to cross and then he stopped swiftly while blocking her view. In this situation she couldn't have seen the train even with her side vision. She subconsciously relied on her lawyer's actions and followed his body movements thinking, perhaps, that as long as she was doing that she was perfectly safe. This teaches us one lesson: always be aware of what is going on around you in such situations and don't just follow others, be it one pedestrian or a whole crowd of them.
My niece's son was killed in the exact same way. His body was subsequently dragged beneath the train until it came to a stop.
Pronunciation is woy-TEE-wah.
This is just one of many foolish moves people have made with a train. That's why the horns are so loud, to warn people.
Was at the train station when it happened
I saw the uncensored video on a website in the late 1990s. RIP Mary 💔
