Control the weapon, control the position and then do damage.
We have to make better decisions in life.
Fuck man he didn't even see the gun. RIP , but this more than likely could have been avoided.
I've seen a guy in a parking lot go to the ground with a subject and was kicked in the head by one of the subjects buddies. "lights out"
As a security guard who has dealt with some interesting transients altercations I think I can comfortably say that (hands on) is the worst case if you have to use force. If you've done all the deescalation possible just use an appropriate tool for the situation. You never know someones abilities. The way I see it is space and time are your best friends
Basic self defense is good to know wrestling or jujitsu is only going to help is if you end up on the ground. Now having said that most fights you will end up on the ground. So knowing some ground fighting is helpful , so learn self defense because a good instructor will incorporate some in your training. Don’t go home in public in your uniform because trouble will find you.
It sad that he lost his life, turn your back will got shot in the back. So you have no choice but to fight. Bad situation is a bad situation.
That's not right people don't have respect
Once he went after that guy you could see he already was going for the handgun sadly if he had knocked him out or seen the gun it might have been different.
1. Once your off duty take that uniform off it invites trouble even after work.
The best fight is the one you never have. Don't fall to contempt of authority mindset as that's pure ego. RIP to this officer.
Another great video gentlemen.
