Many factors drive the frequency and severity of natural disasters. Climate change attribution studies investigate the role of climate change in a natural disaster and how much of a role it played. Scientific modelling approaches and careful data analysis have increased our ability to identify how climate change affects the likelihood of events like bushfires, floods, and heatwaves.
