Fun fact #51: during the pandemic, cruise companies couldn't send their crew back home through airlines so they decided to transfer them from one ship to another through the tenders and they actually sailed their crew back home on the ship.
Fun fact #52: in almost ALL major cruise lines, the majority of the crew will be from the Philippines.
Fun fact #53: all cruise ships have a crew bar.
Fun fact #54: before around 2012, crew members were paid their wages by cash. Nowadays they are paid to a salary bank account accessible with bank card.
Fun fact #55: all cruise ships have a main avenue that goes from aft to forward called the I-95.
' Being aboard a ship is akin to being in prison, but with the added chance of drowning ' Dr Samuel Johnson.
FYI… the icon of the seas is the largest in the world
I wonder how much commish the bus driver got?
Sure sounds like a Carnival Cruise is not my first choice to go on! Not even in my top 10 choices.
Modern Electric Vehicles can have essentially the same carbon footprint as the Titanic. Many places in the US have coal burning power plants. Coal goes in, gets burned and the power to move the vehicle comes out. It isn't the vehicle that matters. It is the source of power production that creates the pollution.
It would be nice if you start using metric measures as well, for those subscribers who aren´t from US (at least in text)
Cruisin' is my favorite way to travel the world. Avoid the cruiseline Carnival..it's cheap for a reason. Highly recommend Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Virgin Voyages (that one is an adult only cruise line…awesome).
titanic wasnt a cruise ship, it was an ocean liner
the storstad ran into the side of the empress of ireland in the fog, it was their fault. they should have stopped or atleast reduced speed
Love the cutout picture of an AIDA ship at night at 15:36.
The deck layout suggests early Sphinx class like AIDAdiva, AIDAbella or AIDAluna.

Is there a place where you can get this as a desktop wallpaper?
Afaik, the Captains of MeinSchiff vessels by TUI Cruises actually can perform weddings that are legally binding and accepted in the EU. Apparently this is due to the fact that the vessels are registered in Malta and due to some special legal magic of theirs that result in the marriage being legally recognized by Malta and consequently all other EU members.
fact -1: most ships use a industrial pulper to mulch food scraps to dump into the sea for the fishes (definitely not a lie i was told to make Norwegian cruise line seem more environmentally friendly)
What is the horrible whistling noise in this video?
They didn’t discus a birth onboard, under what flag does the child’s nationality become law?
#49 is wrong. The Largest Ship is Royal Carribbean Icon of the Seas
MAX pass is 7600 with 2350 crew
At 7 min. offering assistance to fellow mariners is required under the international rules of the road, so it need not be considered a choice.
I grew up on a boat so taking a cruise never crossed my mind.
However, now that it has been 20+ years since Ive even seen that boat.
I think I could go ahead and take a cruise.
Lol they may not be able to get me off that darn thing!!

I'm going on a cruise in Dec.
Thank you for providing the effort for this content. Very educational and entertaining.
I remember during Ebola we had to answer a bunch of questions before we could sail.
I didn't watch more than a few minutes, so the following interesting fact may or may not have been listed among the 50
Fact #49 states that
*Wonder Of The Seas"
Is the largest such beast at 235837 (short) tons
In contrast, "Titanic" weighed in at a mere 46328 (short) tons
Which means Wonder is a bit more than 5X as massive as was Titanic
Being a merchant Navy officer. I am truly grateful for your detailed information on this video. I request you to make a similar video on our merchant vessels too. Coz cruise ships barely make up for 1/4th of the global maritime traffic. it's a request! The world needs to know about us too
People in future there will be free energy don’t listen to that segment of this video free energy is coming with the great awakening people are clueless
He said there is cameras everywhere then why do so many people go missing without any clues and how can they miss anybody going overboard 😳but they do
Costa Concordia sinking was actually in 2012
You cannot compare an Ocean Liner to a cruise ship. No way would I expect to cross the Atlantic on a cruise ship, But I would take an Ocean Liner on a cruise. Ocean Lines are more beautiful than a cruise ship. Good video though
Bananas were considered bad luck because when they rotted they produced gas that could cause other fruit in the same hold to ripen faster than they could be delivered. This would cause a major loss in revenue. This reason was given to me by my Grandpa, a lifelong navy and merchant sailor. As told by SPO Eugene Frederick Jennings.😊
Elon could probably buy every cruise ship and it wouldn’t be a dent in his wealth. Insane
Nice long video to fall asleep to…
I’m not being sarcastic either love listening to these when going to sleep.
Cruise fact #51: None of the White Star Line vessels were cristened with a bottle of anything. I don't think that really makes a difference.
If you’ve worked in the service/hospitality industry, and you’ve ever thought your job was sooo hard… man, try working 90+ hour weeks on a cruise boat. No days off, only shifts off if you’re lucky. No sick days. The skin on your feet basically break and then harden so much you don’t feel the blisters and splints. I’d said it’s more like working in a hospital as a nurse, since you’re basically taking care of people all day and always on your feet, up and down stairs. But you don’t go home for months rather than sleeping in your own, comfortable bed at night. And yes, it is like military barracks, no windows, on some boats up to 12+ roommates and only one bathroom. It’s a lifestyle to work and be in a new place everyday, but it’s really hard to become accustomed to. When you’re back on land it’s like being freed from prison💀
Plague ships!!😁
