Flooding hit Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Monday, February 12 after heavy rain, hail, and lightning lashed large parts of the United Arab Emirates overnight of Sunday, February 11 into Monday, February 12.
The rainfall was so intense that it overwhelmed the city’s drainage systems, causing water to accumulate on the roads and leaving many cars stranded in the standing water.
The National Meteorological Center issued a severe weather warning for many cities in the Emirates. The heavy rains, strong winds, and dust storms also caused power outages in some areas of the city.
