Brazil on Feb- 2023, large-scale flooding destroyed hundreds of properties and killed at least 94 people in the historic Brazilian mountain town of Petropolis after heavy rains caused mudslides that buried homes, flooded the streets and washed away cars and buses of natural disasters.
Hurricane Ida brought heavy rain, strong winds, and storm surge flooding to Louisiana, Mississippi, and other parts of the Southeastern United States. The damage was particularly severe in Louisiana, where the storm made landfall with winds of up to 150 miles per hour of natural disasters.
A heavy rainfall triggered a devastating landslide in the Atami city of Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan of natural disasters. The landslide occurred in a residential area, and swept away multiple homes and buildings, burying them under mud and debris of natural disasters.
Typhoon Surigae was the first super typhoon of 2021 in the Western Pacific, with winds reaching up to 240 km/h (150 mph). Strong winds and heavy rain caused landslides, flooding, and widespread power outages of natural disasters.
